Awaken The Woman Within Workshop 🌱

A self-care meditation workshop led by The Tea Lady, Ms. Ebony, invites women to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. A light lunch is included, and the atmosphere centers on healing, relaxation, and a supportive sense of sisterhood. Onslow T.A.G Teen Advocacy Group Meet Up

Onslow T.A.G., the Teen Advocacy Group, hosts its first meetup at Onslow County Public Library. Created for ages 13 to 18, this gathering invites teens who want to make a positive impact to connect with peers, strengthen critical thinking, and explore how to advocate for the issues they care about. Participants will practice having thoughtful conversations with people who hold different views in a nonpartisan, welcoming setting. No experience is required, only an open mind.

DAVA Unit 16 Yard, Craft & Bake Sale

Volunteers from the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 16 are hosting a community yard sale paired with a craft market and bake sale, presented by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 16. Browse for secondhand treasures, discover handmade creations, and enjoy homemade treats. Proceeds support programs that assist disabled veterans and their families, continuing a mission of compassion and service in the community.

Game Show Night

Bring your crew to City Lights Event Center in Jacksonville for a lively game show night filled with laughs and friendly competition. Form a team with family or friends and take the stage for playful matchups that keep everyone involved. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Concessions will be available.

Spring Garden Festival

A wide selection of locally grown plants will be available for purchase. Wagons or boxes are helpful for carrying purchases. Children can enjoy a free activity in The Children's Garden, and the Plant Clinic will be available to answer gardening questions. Proceeds support Educational Programs. Visitors may tour The Discovery Garden and also visit the Onslow Farmers Market. Payment is cash only. If construction is in progress, the event will be located behind the construction area.

TRU Challenge

TRU Challenge is a fitness competition designed with everyday athletes in mind. Competitors can participate as a team of three or as individuals. Divisions include Novice, Intermediate, Masters ages 40 to 54, and Masters Plus for 55 and older, with no pure Rx category and no focus on fire breathers. Started in 2011 and previously known as Festivus Games, it caters to the majority of athletes who want to be tested while enjoying camaraderie and encouragement. Expect approachable challenges, plenty of sweat and shared cheers, and the kind of experience that leaves you saying you can do it. The first five to register receive a $5 discount per athlete. Barn Quilt Workshop!♥️

Team Hobby Chest 40k RTT

A competitive 40k RTT at Hobby Chest Jacksonville NC features Chapter Approved 2025-2026 Strike Force Missions at 2000 points. Players will compete in three rounds, each planned for two and a half hours. Round one uses Mission B with Layout 1, round two uses Mission E with Layout 1, and round three uses Mission M with Layout 1. The Battle Ready paint standard is not required, and each player receives 10 points per game. A rules cutoff applies and army lists must be submitted by the listed deadline. The day includes an opening briefing, a lunch break, and closing awards. Entry is $20, payable at check in, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Painted, and Servo Skull.

Northside High Lacrosse Motorcycle Ride Fundraiser

A law enforcement escorted motorcycle ride raises funds for Northside High Lacrosse, helping cover uniforms and travel for student-athletes. Entry is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers, and 100 percent of proceeds go directly to the program. After the ride, hotdogs will be served by Red Knights MC NC-4. Each mile contributes to supporting these athletes on and off the field.

ACOTAR Paint and Sip at The Third Space

Settle into a guided paint and sip where the Night Court from ACOTAR becomes your canvas. Suitable for first-time painters and experienced artists alike, this workshop covers the basics of acrylic painting while sharing trusted techniques from artist Aubrey Gray. Learn practical tips for shaping a calm, fantasy-inspired scene, then personalize your work with simple floral accents so every painting is uniquely yours. All supplies are provided for individual use, including canvas, easel, paint, brushes, palette, and apron. Each participant will take home an 11x14 inch finished piece along with their paint plate. Onslow County Farmers Market

This seasonal market features local produce, meats, eggs, honey, and other goods. The market accepts SNAP/EBT and participates in the NC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (NCFMP) for WIC and Seniors.

Sunday Concealed Carry Class

This eight-hour concealed carry course at Eastern Shore Firearms Training focuses on permit readiness with clear, safety-first instruction for all experience levels. Tuition is $55, plus a $15 range fee that covers firearm and ammunition use. Instruction is led by Jeff Benson, a Class 3 FFL, and includes fundamentals taught with classroom laser trainers. Training incorporates suppressors. Refreshments are provided during the class. A Spanish-language version of the written test is available. Bring your sheriff’s office permit application if you would like it notarized during class. Students do not need to be 21 to attend, although you must be 21 to apply for the permit. Gun transfers for students are available for $35. The location is on the southwest side of Jacksonville. Groups of six or more can request a weekday session or a two-night option. Two part pottery and flower arrangement workshop

At The Clove Hitch in Jacksonville, NC, this two-part, hands-on experience blends ceramics and floral design. The first session, hosted by Sea Clay NC, invites participants to decorate a wheel-thrown pitcher vase made by a professional local ceramic artist, using high quality glazes to create a personalized look. No experience is needed, and the finished piece is picked up at the following session. The second session, led by Kenzie’s Florals, guides participants in building a bouquet with fresh, seasonal blooms and essential arranging techniques, designed to sit beautifully in the newly glazed pitcher. Flowers, wrapping, ribbon, and all other supplies are provided. Participants finish with a custom glazed ceramic pitcher vase and a fresh floral arrangement they created.

Youth Softball Clinic

At Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex, this youth clinic helps players work on softball basics. Participants rotate through straightforward drills that cover hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, and base running. Experienced coaches lead the training with a positive approach and clear instruction.

Practical Rifle (With Tanner and Kenny)

The Practical Rifle course is designed to develop efficient rifle handling and high-level marksmanship under time and performance pressure. Students will focus on refining core rifle fundamentals while learning to apply them at speed through structured drills and performance-based exercises. Mental Health First Aide

Created for teens, this Mental Health First Aid training builds skills to notice when a friend might be struggling and to respond with care and confidence. It explores anxiety and depression, eating disorders, bullying and the influence of social media, substance use, and ADHD. Participants learn to recognize warning signs, understand the impact of violence, and use the MHFA Action Plan. The training also covers how to support peers by involving trusted adults, while addressing stigma and fostering hope for recovery. The goal is to equip young people to look out for one another and strengthen the well-being of their community.

Onslow County Senior Services, together with Community Paramedic partners, offers a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day presentation focused on medication safety and ways to safeguard loved ones. The session explores using medicines safely, how to avoid unintentional overdoses, the right time and method for disposing of prescriptions, and local options for support. Proper disposal lowers the risk of misuse, helps protect grandkids and pets, and supports efforts to keep medications out of the water supply.

Moon Connections - Cycles, Archetypes and Phases

Explore how the moon’s rhythms can serve as a guide for personal cycles and periods of change. This workshop delves into the lunar phases and practical ways to work with them, considers how the moon moves through zodiac signs and transits, and helps each participant identify their personal moon sign to better understand emotional needs, flow, and expressions of femininity. Timed with the Full Moon in Scorpio, the session takes place at Within Yoga. To calculate an individual moon sign, attendees should provide their birth date, birth time, and birth location, and an estimated time is acceptable if the exact time is unknown. Jamboree Kickoff Concert

Candle Magick Class

Explore the art of candle magick in a guided class with Samantha Porter that focuses on working with fire to direct intention, support manifestation, and turn energy into real results. The session covers core practices such as choosing colors and their meanings, how to dress and anoint candles, and how to align your work with lunar and planetary cycles. Participants learn a complete workflow for preparing, charging, and activating candles for goals like love, protection, prosperity, healing, and personal transformation. Samantha also explains how the practice operates on both energetic and psychological levels, and how to read burn signs during and after a working, including flame height, soot, and wax patterns, to understand outcomes. An interactive segment invites everyone to craft an intention candle to bring home. Participants select a candle color, choose herbs and oils, and charge the candle with a personal affirmation or sigil. All materials are provided, and attendees leave with both new knowledge and a finished candle ready for use in their own practice. The Neighbors Golf Tournament

Announced by The Brown Derby Pub in memory of Spanky, The Neighbors Golf Tournament supports Hope For The Warriors, a veteran charity important to him. The tournament takes place at Rock Creek Golf Course. Registration is $65 per player, with four-person teams. After play, The Kilted Cook will serve a hearty meal at The Brown Derby, followed by a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Winners will be announced there and cash prizes will be awarded. Hole sponsorships are available.

Retiree AM Game Time and Coffee

The first annual Road2Reentry 5K/1M Run/Walk supports Philippians Place's Men's Reentry Transitional Housing Program. All proceeds go toward expanding housing to serve more men returning from incarceration in Onslow County. Runners can compete for age group awards, and there is also recognition for the largest groups among runners and walkers. Every participant receives a Road2Reentry T-shirt.

ELJ Farms and The Rustic Barn at Half Moon announce the third annual Independence Day concert featuring live music by Thomas Road. This family friendly celebration offers performances, food, a beer garden, face painting, inflatables, and more. Bring blankets and chairs so everyone can relax and enjoy the Rustic Barn setting under the night sky. The beer garden will operate through the Rustic Barn’s mobile bar setups, and outside alcohol is not permitted on the property. Tickets are on sale.
