JacksonvilleLilith and Demons: Shadow, Power, and the Feminine Divine
Led by Anthony Watson, this class invites participants to explore shadow, transformation, and the force of the feminine through the figure of Lilith and beings often labeled as demons. The focus is on themes of rebellion, freedom, hidden wisdom, and the overlooked parts of the self. It is presented with a careful, respectful approach and does not involve summoning or invoking energies for chaos or harm. Instead, the session examines archetypes, myths, and spiritual teachings tied to Lilith and other ancient figures associated with the shadow in both human and divine experience. Participants consider how these currents can support personal empowerment, self-liberation, and the reclamation of suppressed identity. Discussion traces the mythic and historical roots of Lilith in Sumerian and Hebrew sources and her presence in modern occult thought, highlighting her emergence as a symbol of sovereignty and defiance. The class also looks at demons as guiding spirits of transformation, often called daimons, and how shifting cultural views turned these forces from catalysts for growth into objects of fear. Practical work includes exercises for integrating the shadow, meditations that engage archetypal energies, and ritual frameworks for safely acknowledging and working with one's own shadow. Methods for grounding and protection are also covered to help maintain balance when engaging with strong or challenging energies. It is intended for those seeking a mature, clear understanding rather than thrills or shock, with an emphasis on empowerment, reclamation, and inner transformation. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook or journal for reflection. Class donation is $35.
