Garner History Museum at the DepotDaniel: An Uncompromising Life
STP presents a stage musical retelling the story of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, four Jewish youths carried into exile in Babylon. Their journey portrays unwavering faith as, sustained by God’s protection, they face King Nebuchadnezzar, a blazing furnace, a den of lions, and persecution from enemies. Drawing inspiration from the approach of Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the production weaves a mix of contemporary musical styles into the narrative. Songs and choreography tip the hat to Abba, Boys to Men, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles, the Charleston, a lively country western celebration, and more. The result is a high-energy production that pairs vibrant entertainment with a faithful account of young men who remained steadfast in their commitment to God.
