Gravity brings together Elizabeth Futter, Emma Hatton, and Nikki Bentley, celebrated for their turns in Wicked on the West End and Broadway, for a one-night concert at the Walker Center in Wilkesboro. This exclusive event revisits the roles that defined them and the songs that shaped their journeys, blending signature anthems, powerhouse vocals, and a few surprises for an evening of Broadway-caliber entertainment. Musical theatre fans, whether longtime devotees or newly inspired by Wicked, can look forward to soaring singing and vivid storytelling. Tickets start at $40 plus taxes and fees. A pre-show dinner is available, featuring a baby kale and spinach salad with blueberries, cranberries, diced apples, sunflower seeds, and goat cheese dressed in a brown sugar Dijon vinaigrette, followed by a buffet of prime rib (see website for pricing), roasted salmon, grilled chicken, crispy smashed potatoes, sautéed kale, roasted corn, and fresh rolls. Browse fresh, locally grown and handcrafted goods, pick up weekly staples, or enjoy a relaxed stroll with coffee while taking in the atmosphere. The market continues in typical weather, and if severe conditions are expected, updates are shared in advance.

Adults and children team up in a hands-on clay class to make pinch-pot pumpkins. Starting with a small lump of clay and simple pinching, you will help your child shape a tiny pumpkin with its own character. After the form is built, add fun textures, quirky details, and final touches to make it one of a kind. Choose vivid underglazes for painting or pick from the studio’s glazes for a polished finish. The clay needs to fully dry before it is fired, so completion takes several weeks. Pieces dry, then receive a bisque firing. Each work is then cleaned, the underside is waxed, glaze is applied, and it is fired again. Projects will be ready for pickup in about 4 to 6 weeks, and shipping is available for an additional fee. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, tie back long hair, and leave rings, bracelets, and other loose jewelry at home. Arrive no more than five minutes before class starts, follow all studio rules and procedures, and note that registrations are non-refundable due to limited seating.
