The organization provides advocacy, educational outreach, and hands-on community care for people affected by HIV. Jason lives openly with HIV and is a statewide advocate and speaker dedicated to reducing stigma, building community, and honoring those who have passed by empowering others to live fully and openly. Guided by compassion, remembrance, and community action, Shine Bright & Live advances its mission through education, storytelling, direct support, and partnerships across the state to foster a more connected, stigma free future. Participants head home with easy songs and practical ideas to weave music into daily routines, creating joyful and meaningful moments with little ones in their earliest years. Cardio and Coffee Series 2026

Trail running and fresh coffee come together at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a recurring series that blends outdoor fitness with flavorful brews. Each outing features a different route guided by a park ranger, followed by a specialty roast coffee tasting on the Commissary Store deck that includes a brief educational chat about the featured roast. Runs begin and end at the park’s Commissary Gift Shop on Cavalry Square. Routes are not marked, however maps are provided and the group is led by a park interpretive ranger. Expect about four miles at a comfortable, moderate pace with one or two short stops so participants can stay together. The multi-use trails are dirt and gravel with moderate climbs and descents, and some uneven ground. Trails are not stroller friendly. Wear supportive running shoes and be prepared for dirt, gravel, and grass surfaces. Bringing a small water bottle is recommended on warmer days. Participants of all ages are welcome. It is recommended that runners can comfortably complete a 5K without assistance, and anyone starting a moderate fitness routine should consult a healthcare provider first. This series is presented with support from the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and Coal Country Coffee Company. Entry is free with a North Dakota State Parks Annual Pass, or a $7 vehicle registration fee is collected at the park entrance. Jennifer Lyn & The Groove Revival

Jennifer Lyn & The Groove Revival bring Electric Eden to Bismarck State College Theatre, an energetic blues-rock showcase that blends the spirit of classic rock with a modern, soulful edge. The night also celebrates their new live album, Electric Eden, shaped by the powerful connection with audiences during the 2025 tour and recaptured on stage with the band’s trademark intensity. Launching in 2021, the group has built momentum with guitar-driven songs, commanding vocals, and the chemistry of dual-guitar interplay. Their accolades include appearing on the first-round GRAMMY ballot in Contemporary Blues, reaching No. 4 on Billboard’s Top U.S. Blues Albums, hitting No. 1 on the Roots Music Report Blues Rock Chart, earning seven Independent Blues Music Award nominations, being named an International Songwriting Award finalist, and achieving Top 20 blues radio chart placements in the UK and Australia. The performance features original material alongside reimagined classics from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. Expect skilled musicianship, a deep groove, and a live show that feels raw and nostalgic while staying vividly in the moment. Past concertgoers have praised the powerhouse vocals, standout guitar work, and a full-band sound that leaves a lasting impression.

Expect a fully live experience built from beatboxing, on-the-fly looping, turntable skills, and rap, presented at Eclipse Venue in Bismarck, North Dakota. Vendetta Spoken ft. Fel, NDTMS, & Goodmorning Guilty

Celebrate the arrival of new music from Vendetta Spoken with an EP release show for The Lost Years. Founded in 2007 in Bismarck, this progressive metalcore band is known for high-energy performances that weave groove-forward rhythms, melodic hooks, and heavy breakdowns. After a ten-year hiatus that began in 2014, they returned to the stage and have since headlined Bismarck’s Hardcore Homecoming Festival multiple times. The Lost Years marks their first new material since the 2010 full-length Schrodinger Equation, recorded with Josh Schroeder, recognized by Billboard as the 2025 Metal/Rock Producer of the Year. The bill features FEL, a blackened three-piece that channels the speed and grit of Motörhead and Venom alongside the cold edge of Dissection and Darkthrone for raw, stripped-down rock and roll. NDTMS (Endtimes) brings progressive, melodic screamo from four longtime friends in the Bismarck and Mandan area, moving from dark, moody ambience to fast, chaotic passages with vulnerable lyrics and waves of raw emotion that build to moments of clarity. Goodmorning Guilty adds melodic metalcore from North Dakota in the vein of Killswitch Engage, It Dies Today, and Bleeding Through. This event is all ages.

The Bismarck Darkverse Color Run brings a goth-themed twist to the classic color run, trading neon brights for deep, dramatic powders. Move however you like... run, walk, dance, or simply take in the vibe. Expect clouds of black, burgundy, plum, charcoal, and ash tones that create a moody, smoky look and make for striking photos. Dress the part with black pieces, lace, leather, boots, cloaks, or anything that suits your style. The focus is on self-expression, bold visuals, and a shared celebration of a darker aesthetic.

Cardio and Coffee Series 2026

The Cardio and Coffee trail running series returns to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park, pairing an invigorating run with a tasting of specialty roast coffee. Each outing features a different route on the park’s scenic trails led by a park interpretive ranger, then coffee is served outside the Commissary with a short talk about the featured roast. The group starts and finishes at the Commissary Gift Shop on Cavalry Square, and restrooms in the Commissary are available before the run. Expect roughly 4 miles at a comfortable, moderate pace with one or two brief stops to keep everyone together. Most runs last around 50 to 60 minutes, and maps of the route are provided even though the course itself is not marked. Trails follow dirt and gravel multi-use paths with moderate climbs and descents and some uneven terrain, so they are not stroller friendly. Wear supportive running shoes, be ready for dirt, gravel, and grass underfoot, and bring water, especially on warm mornings. All ages are welcome, though participants should be able to comfortably run a 5K without assistance, and it is recommended to consult a doctor before beginning a moderate fitness activity. Weather may affect plans, and updates about changes are shared on social media. Light rain or rainfall the previous night may not result in cancellation. Admission is free with a North Dakota State Parks annual pass, or available with a vehicle registration fee at the park entrance. This series is sponsored by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and Coal Country Coffee Company, and it takes place across six mornings during the season.
