The CorVent Clay Classic brings the community together at The Shooting Park of Horace for clay shooting followed by a steak dinner, all in support of Fisher House North Dakota. Presented by CorVent Medical, the event helps advance a project to build a 13,400 square foot, 16 suite residence near the Fargo VA Medical Center Campus, providing no cost lodging for families of veterans and active duty service members while their loved ones receive care. When completed, the house is expected to welcome more than 23,000 family members each year, serving communities across North Dakota and 54 counties in Minnesota. The gathering pairs outdoor sport and a shared meal with the mission of helping bring this lodging resource to life for military families.

Generously supported by Roger Minch, this program salutes the nation’s 250th year with a broad view of American music and its unfolding story. Carlos Simon’s Four Black American Dances brings contemporary vitality shaped by Black American dance traditions, with percussion that suggests motion at every turn. Samuel Barber’s Violin Concerto, performed by guest soloist William Hagen, stands as a treasured lyrical centerpiece in the American repertoire. Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2, the Romantic from 1930, places feeling at the forefront, unfolding in expansive themes and luminous orchestral colors. Together, these works trace nearly a century of composition and offer a vivid portrait of the American symphonic tradition.
