Citrus Catch Tray Saturday Walk In

Take part in a relaxed, walk-in session at Rising Dawn Ceramics to make and paint your own citrus catch tray. No advance tickets are required. All materials and step-by-step guidance are provided. Uncommon Critters

Children of all ages can meet a variety of animals at the Fargo Public Library’s Main Library as Amanda Hillier Hodney of Amanda's Critter Encounters presents some of the creatures from her collection. Lizards, snakes, birds and more will be featured, offering a chance to see species with connections to the prehistoric animal family tree. Hodney holds a degree in Natural Resources Management and has 16 years of experience with independent exotic animal rescue. Designed for children ages 4 to 6, this drop-off camp at the Red River Zoo introduces young learners to the zoo’s classes and camps in a supportive setting. Over the course of a week, campers take part in crafts, games, interactive activities, and close animal encounters that match a dedicated theme. The Into the Outdoors theme invites kids to explore nearby animals and plants through stories, playful discovery, and nature-focused fun. Stained Glass Gnome Plant Stake with Morgan's Stained Glass

Make a stained glass gnome that can hang in a window or be finished as a plant stake. With guidance from Morgan of Morgan's Stained Glass, participants choose from a selection of pre-cut glass pieces, learn to apply copper foil, then solder the pieces into a light-catching design to take home. All materials are provided, and bringing your own well-fitting work gloves is welcome. This hands-on class takes place at the Unglued Craftatorium at Brewhalla. It is open to ages from middle school through adult, and each person must have their own ticket. Please be aware of workshop hazards that include sharp glass, lead and tin solder, possible skin irritants, and hot soldering irons. Protective gear is available, and use is up to each participant. If plans change, full refunds are available when requested at least 72 hours before the workshop start by emailing craftatorium@ungluedmarket.com. After that window refunds are not issued unless a wait list can be used, and registrations may be transferred to another person. A minimum of eight participants is required, and if that number is not reached by 24 hours in advance, registrants will receive an email notification and a refund.

MSUM Women's Basketball Fundamental Skills Camp

Created for girls entering kindergarten through third grade in fall 2026, this three day fundamental skills camp offers a lively mix of learning and friendly competition. Young athletes will sharpen their game with on court instruction, live play, and activities that build teamwork. Coaching is provided by members of the Dragon staff alongside current student athletes. Sessions take place at the Nemzek-MSUM Athletic Building.

FM Aerial Youth Summer Camps

Young movers can dive into aerial arts at a playful summer camp that blends creativity, movement, and plenty of fun. Campers explore aerial silks, aerial hoop and lollipop, juggling, hula hoop, acro yoga, and dramatic movement, learning new skills with guidance and practice. Designed for ages 6 to 12, enrollment requires completion of kindergarten, and participants are grouped with peers of similar age for a supportive experience. Each camp runs for five consecutive days, and four sessions are available over the summer. The regular fee is $300, with an early bird rate of $250 for those who register ahead.

Youth Camp: Raku Fire & Form

Teens can explore ceramics at Plains Art Museum in a hands-on camp focused on clay, glazes, and fire. Participants practice hand building to create both sculptural works and functional pieces while experimenting with texture, form, and surface decoration. The experience includes raku firing, an age-old process known for vivid crackle patterns, smoky finishes, and metallic sheen. Pieces are lifted from a hot kiln and placed in combustible materials, allowing students to see how heat and reduction transform the surface. Geared to ages 13 to 17, this camp blends creative exploration with solid craftsmanship, and concludes with a Mini Art Exhibition where participants share their finished ceramics. Tuition is $315, with a $252 rate for members. A 10 percent discount is available with enrollment in two or more camps.

Designed for children ages 4 to 6, this drop-off camp at the Red River Zoo offers a welcoming introduction to the zoo’s Classes and Camps without a caregiver present. Summer Day Camp: Wiggles & Wags

At Gasper's School of Dance South Studio, campers spend three playful days exploring puppy-themed movement through dance classes, creative activities, and plenty of imaginative games. Each day includes creative movement, arts and crafts, coloring, story time, and a snack break, all building toward a sweet routine to share with family on the final day. Instruction is led by Ms. Laura, a Hawley Public School teacher and Gasper's dance instructor. Registration covers all three days of camp. A light snack such as fruit snacks, animal cookies, crackers, or a similar option is provided, and families of campers with dietary restrictions can send an appropriate snack and inform the staff. Campers receive a Gasper’s water bottle at their first camp while supplies last. Pricing is $120 for a single week, with each additional camp at $100. When two or more siblings enroll, the cost is $100 per child.

Paint with Anna Johnson (Ages: 12-17)

At Plains Art Museum, artist Anna Johnson leads a collaborative mural workshop for ages 12 to 17. Guided by the Ojibwe Seven Teachings, the session focuses on Honesty, represented by the Sasquatch, as participants work together to paint a large community mural. Students create alongside Anna while exploring storytelling, symbolism, color, and creative expression in a welcoming studio setting. Dress for messy art and bring a water bottle. All supplies are included. This free workshop is made possible by the North Dakota Council on the Arts & CREA.

Fraser, Ltd. provides CPR, First Aid, and AED training that builds practical skills for responding to emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. The course serves individuals pursuing certification as well as employers seeking staff training, with group sessions available at your location for teams of six to twelve participants. Instruction is led by American Red Cross certified instructors and focuses on hands-on, personalized practice. The program meets childcare licensing requirements and is offered in the evenings for added convenience. The fee is $100 per participant and, upon successful completion, a two-year Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED certification card is issued. The Thrills and Challenges of Building the Viking Ship Valkyrie

Viking ship builder Jay Smith of Washington State offers a free presentation in the ship gallery theater that explores the rewards and challenges of constructing the Valkyrie. He traces traditional Viking shipbuilding from selecting and harvesting trees to the moment the vessel touched the water, while also connecting the craft to Viking culture. Valkyrie grew from a promise David Knudsen made to his father, Heinrich. The ship launched in spring 2024 and now sails the Salish Sea in Washington State. Smith brings years of hands-on experience to the topic, including work on the small boat Inga used by the crew of the Hjemkomst.

Intro to Wheel Throwing

Explore the fundamentals of wheel throwing in a two-hour class covering centering, lifting walls, and trimming on the pottery wheel. You will pick a glaze and receive one finished bowl or cup in about two to three weeks. This session is intended for ages 13 and older. Anyone under 16 must attend with an adult who also holds a ticket. All materials are included, just bring your creative spirit. For groups, purchasing tickets in a single order is recommended.

Beginning Meditation, Start Where You Are

A welcoming introduction to meditation for beginners, this class focuses on building a simple practice that feels doable and consistent, without requiring prior experience or perfect concentration. River Paddling Excursion: Animals and Habitats of the Red River

Explore the Red River’s wildlife and habitats on a relaxed group paddle led by Red River Zoo. Set out from Hjemkomst Landing and look for animals and the signs they leave behind while learning how the river provides food, water, and shelter. Check in and secure any needed equipment before a brief paddling basics overview, then head onto the water with guidance from an experienced leader. Pre-registration is required. Participation is limited to 20 vessels per excursion. The fee is $10 per person when bringing your own vessel or $15 per person with a rental, and rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Refunds are available with notice at least two business days before the excursion. If river conditions prevent paddling, the outing will shift to a hike and backup dates are planned for the following week. Updates will be posted on the event page. 2026 NDGCA Camping and Caching - GCBJ8ZV

Hosted by the North Dakota Geocaching Association, this sixteenth edition of Camping and Caching brings geocachers, family, and friends to Lindenwood Park in the Fargo Moorhead area. Participants typically arrive with a GPS or smartphone, camping gear, and their usual geocaching tools, and they can take part for the day or make it a full weekend with nearby camping or hotel stays. The F-M GeoCommittee plans to spotlight locations that are distinctive to the area through a variety of caches and activities. The plan includes a friendly welcome meet-up with swag pickup, ample time set aside for geocaching and socializing, and a potluck supper. Attendees are asked to bring a dish to share and a non-alcoholic beverage, while plates, napkins, and plasticware will be provided. A silent auction during dinner supports the NDGCA, and contributions of door prizes or auction items are appreciated. Information about camping and hotel reservations, as well as apparel ordering, will be shared on the NDGCA website and Facebook. Updates about this gathering will also appear on the event’s cache page and the NDGCA Facebook group, and additional activities for the weekend are planned. This structured pack walk is open to the public and centers on calm, neutral socialization while moving together with clear spacing and direction. It suits dogs working through reactivity or overstimulation, handlers who want stronger leash skills and engagement, and anyone who enjoys being around fellow dog owners. The group walks as a unit with dogs intentionally kept apart. There are no on-leash meet and greets or chaotic interactions, only steady, coordinated movement. Participants are expected to keep dogs leashed at all times, avoid on-leash greetings, maintain space between teams, and use non-retractable leashes. Limit participation to one dog per handler. Dogs must be current on rabies, Bordetella, and distemper vaccinations. Bring a standard 4 to 6 foot leash, the training tools you normally use, and water for yourself and your dog. If your dog struggles at times, that is acceptable. The walk provides a supportive setting to practice rather than avoid challenging moments. RSVP is required. Questions can be asked in the group.

A summer tradition transforms the west lot at First Lutheran Church into a relaxed picnic setting with live music. This series of free outdoor concerts is presented by the First Lutheran Church Foundation, and food is available for a charitable fee that supports the church’s mission partners. Beneficiaries include Feed My Starving Children FargoPack, Heart n’ Soul Community Cafe, Emergency Food Pantry, Churches United, and New Life Center. Live Wall Mounted Plant Art with visiting Fargo Street Fair artist Simple Morea

Create a living, wall mounted plant piece with Simple Morea, a Fargo Street Fair vendor visiting from Wichita, Kansas. Participants will build an elegant plaque by mounting a live plant to a cedar board with sphagnum moss, learning techniques for care and maintenance along the way. Instruction is led by Simple Morea’s creator, Wei Li, whose workshops emphasize mindful making, careful attention to detail, and open Q&A. All materials are provided, and each person completes one piece to take home. This workshop welcomes ages 8 and older, and every attendee must have their own ticket. The session takes place at the Unglued Craftatorium at Brewhalla. A minimum of eight participants is required, and if that threshold is not met, registrants will be notified and refunded. Refunds are available when requested at least 72 hours before the workshop begins. After that window, refunds are not issued unless a waitlist can be used, and tickets may be transferred to another person.

RiverArts is a five-night summer series from Moorhead Parks & Recreation that fills Viking Ship Park along the Red River with live music, art, food, and community fun. Look for cultural performances, hands-on artist demonstrations and activities, inflatables, yard games, a photo spot, the Imagination Playground, an interactive mural, and more. Hot dogs, brats, soda, and chips are available for purchase from the Moorhead Midday-Central Lions, and on select evenings adult beverages are offered by Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre and Swing Barrel Brewing Co. Free admission to the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County Museum is included during the event. Bring a chair or blanket, enjoy the performances and activities, and connect with community organizations and vendors.

River Paddling Excursion: Discover the Red River

Set out on a relaxed group paddle of the Red River with River Keepers, guided by a knowledgeable local who shares insights into the river’s past, its natural characteristics, everyday uses, and the wildlife that depends on it. The outing begins at Hjemkomst Landing. Participants check in, receive any needed equipment, and start with a brief overview of paddling fundamentals before heading out together. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 20 vessels. The fee is $10 per person if you bring your own vessel or $15 per person with a rental, and rentals are available on a first come, first served basis. To receive a refund, notification is required two business days in advance. If weather postpones paddling, the backup is the following week. If the river is not an option, the plan shifts to a hike, with updates shared on the Facebook event page. This excursion is part of a season-long series with themes that include social paddles, local history, wildlife and habitats, trees along the river, mindful movement on the water, and birds, led by partners such as Midwest Outdoors, the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, Red River Zoo, Fargo Park District, CJM Yoga, and Audubon Great Plains.

Wednesday in the Park- Tie-Dye

Add a burst of color at a park tie-dye session. Bring a white shirt to personalize, and supplies like rubber bands and dye will be available. A small selection of additional items will also be on hand to dye. This Wednesday in the Park activity welcomes all ages, and children 5 and under must be with an adult. Most projects take about 30 minutes to an hour. If it rains, the event will be canceled, and updates will be shared on Facebook.

Joe Flip Band: Fargo Blues Festival 2026

Two days of music featuring 13 bands set the scene at the Fargo Blues Festival, where the Joe Flip Band delivers a high energy blend of blues rock with a Texas twist. Joe Flip is recognized for performing on handmade oil can guitars and for chart success, with Old Soul: Live reaching number 6 on the Billboard Top Blues Albums chart in 2024. His earlier release, Home Sweet Home, received GRAMMY consideration and landed in the Top 40 on Blues Rock radio charts. Coverage from outlets including Blues Matters Magazine, Americana Highways, and Blues Blast Magazine has praised his skilled guitar work, strong vocals, and rhythms that keep audiences moving.

Fargo SCHEELS Duck & Goose Calling Competitions – Hunt Fest

Fargo SCHEELS hosts five premier duck and goose calling contests in partnership with the annual Hunt Fest. The lineup includes youth divisions for duck and goose callers, both open to ages 16 and under with no entry fee. Ages 16 and up can compete in a two-person goose calling contest, a meat duck calling contest, and an open goose calling contest. Entry for the 16+ categories is $40, and competitors receive a $40 SCHEELS gift card at check-in. For the two-person goose event, only one team member needs to register to secure the spot for both callers. Prizes are awarded to the winner of each individual contest. Spectating is free, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the action. Paint the Prairie

Hosted by the Fargo Park District and the United Prairie Foundation, Paint the Prairie blends outdoor art-making with a closer look at native habitats at Urban Plains Park. Artists work en plein air, the French term for creating art in the open air, drawing on Impressionist ideas to capture light, movement, and color across the prairie landscape. The format suits all experience levels, with local plant experts available to help identify grasses and wildflowers and art volunteers offering practical painting tips. Participants may bring their own supplies, and registration to purchase paint supplies is closed. Finished pieces may be displayed at the Monarch Butterfly Tagging event. This project is supported in part by a grant from the North Dakota Council on the Arts, which receives funding from the state legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

All ages are welcome as Overtime marks ten years since the RIAA Certified Gold breakthrough Hunger In My Stomach with a high-energy stop on The Modern Day Outlaw Tour. Expect a full live band delivering favorites like Next To Me, County Line, and Divided We Fall alongside newer cuts including Soldier Up, Stand Your Ground, and Stuck In My Ways. There are no backing tracks, only real musicianship and a hard-hitting show that blends country grit, rock power, and rap intensity. The lineup features support from Wildcard, DurtE, Jake LaCoste, and Shawn Paris. General Admission is $20 in advance or $25 the day of show and includes standing-room entry only with no reserved seating, first come first served, and no VIP access or early entry. A $100 VIP Meet and Greet includes one General Admission ticket, a 45-minute casual meet, a custom drawstring bag, a signed tour poster, and a signed photo. The ninth annual Bruse Flea Market brings together 30 carefully selected vendors offering antiques, vintage finds, and handcrafted items on Bruse Farm northwest of Horace. Essentia Health presents an evening of stand-up at Bluestem Amphitheater as John Mulaney takes the stage with very special guest Mike Birbiglia. This all-ages show offers on-site food and drink and will proceed rain or shine. Round-trip shuttles are available from Murphy’s Pub and Legends Sports Bar & Grill in Moorhead for a $10 wristband that covers the ride and includes $5 off any drink before the show. Service begins when gates open and runs frequently. Wristbands are available on show day with no reservations required, and the shuttles are open to all ages. Parking at the venue is limited, so carpooling and shuttle use are encouraged.
