His influences range from AC/DC and The Ramones to John Coltrane and Parliament, and his guiding principle is to explore different styles rather than stick to just one. Dave Hunter & The Seven Hundred, based along the Maine and New Hampshire seacoast, bring a punchy mix of alt-country, roots-rock, and amped-up Americana. The lineup features lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter Dave Hunter with Chris Kelly on guitar and vocals, Steve Barlock on bass and vocals, and Joe Welsh on drums and vocals. Their debut LP, Tamp That Fever Down, includes songs such as It Made the Greatest Sound, Chicken Little’s Bones, Leaving Westbrook, Hey, Gina, and Got a Favor.
