Now in its 24th year, the Walk for Brain Injury Awareness takes place at Saddle River County Park in Paramus, New Jersey. Participants come together for a community walk that shines a light on the importance of brain injury awareness.

Pitch in at Lenape Turtle Pond in Teaneck to care for the Greenway while meeting neighbors outdoors. Volunteers will collect litter, remove invasive plants to give trees room to grow, and add native species where feasible. A limited number of tools will be available, and participants may bring their own gloves, loppers, and clippers. The Friends of the Greenway can provide certification for volunteer service if needed. Garfield’s community carnival, also known as The Garnival, brings rides, games, food, and vendors to Century Field Park in Garfield. Entertainment will be announced. General admission is $5, paid in cash at the gate. Admission is free for children under age 3. A 36 inch measurement is referenced in the policy. Parking is available on nearby streets and in Century Field lots. Garfield residents may obtain one free entry ticket at the Garfield Rec Center during regular business hours. The ticket provides entry for a single night of their choice. If a ticket is not obtained or additional days are desired, standard admission applies. The free ticket does not cover rides, vendors, food, or games. Attendees can purchase Magic Money inside the carnival to take part in those activities. Ticket pickup requires the person receiving it to be 18 years of age or older.
