The Mahwah Health Department, the Village of Ridgewood Health Department, and Valley Health System are partnering to offer free child health clinics for uninsured children. Appointments are required, and services include immunizations, measurements, growth and development assessments, and counseling for parents. Mr. Tommy leads a storytime for children ages 0 to 3, featuring a mix of stories and songs designed to keep little ones engaged from start to finish. Registration is required, and each child needs an individual spot.

Lego Hangout Day offers a laid-back time to build and let imagination lead the way with Legos. Please register each child individually.

Connect with fellow crocheters in a relaxed, social setting while you focus on your own projects. Basic materials will be available from the library, and participants should plan to work independently since there will be no instructor. Now in its 24th year, the Walk for Brain Injury Awareness takes place at Saddle River County Park in Paramus, New Jersey. Participants come together for a community walk that shines a light on the importance of brain injury awareness.

Pitch in at Lenape Turtle Pond in Teaneck to care for the Greenway while meeting neighbors outdoors. Volunteers will collect litter, remove invasive plants to give trees room to grow, and add native species where feasible. A limited number of tools will be available, and participants may bring their own gloves, loppers, and clippers. The Friends of the Greenway can provide certification for volunteer service if needed. Organizers advise checking their website in advance for any updates or cancellations. Street parking is available.

Celebrate the season at the third installment of this free end-of-summer gathering. The event spotlights creative work produced in summer programs and adds plenty of fun with snacks and games, live music from bands and DJs, face painting, dancing, and art galleries. Paramus Walk for Research takes place at Bergen Community College, featuring an Event Village before a short ceremony and the start of a one mile route. The course accommodates wheelchairs and strollers. Dogs are not permitted. Registration and donations are available online.

Take on the Palisades Half Marathon and 6K Trail Run at Palisades Interstate Park, where the route follows the Palisades ridge with wide-open views, notable elevation changes, and a blend of pavement and trail.
