Free events in Mount Laurel, NJ

Part of the Oscar Movie Marathon, F1 The Movie, a Best Picture nominee, screens in the Conference Center on the lower level. No registration is required. The story follows a veteran Formula One racer who returns from retirement to partner with and mentor a younger driver. The film runs 2 hours and 35 minutes and is rated PG-13. These movie programs are made possible with ongoing support from the Friends of the Cherry Hill Library.

Support Sustainable South Jersey and the Cherry Hill Environmental Board by helping tend a pollinator garden in peak bloom. Volunteers will trim ground ivy, wild strawberry vines, and other invasive growth so the plants that sustain butterflies, bees, and other pollinators have space to thrive. No prior gardening experience is needed, and participants may stay for whatever duration works for them. Bring gardening gloves, a preferred weeding or digging tool if available, and insect repellent. Extra gloves will be provided. If rain or storms are expected, the cleanup will be rescheduled. This hands-on effort offers a simple way to care for local habitat while enjoying the garden at its summertime best.

This community cleanup along the Cooper River focuses on collecting litter and caring for the shoreline. Participants can enjoy summer weather while working together to keep the waterway clean. RSVP or direct questions to Michael Hogan at hoganphoto@verizon.net or 609-476-2086.

Spend a relaxed day of board gaming at The Guild Hall Hobby in the Moorestown Mall. Explore a library of more than 600 titles that are free to play on Sundays, or bring your own favorites to the table. The store keeps a list of most games on its website, and new releases may appear in the library before they show up on that list. Please note the shop has moved and is now directly across from the food court in the spot where FYE used to be, straight ahead from the food court entrance. RSVPs are helpful, as the event may be canceled if only the organizer is signed up.
