Free events in Las Cruces, NM

A dinosaur-themed playgroup at Sagecrest Park invites participants to rescue some dinosaurs in a fun, community setting. It takes place right after Dinosaur Stroller Strides. The playgroup is free and open to everyone, and FIT4MOM membership is not required. Registration is requested.

Catch The Consequences for a night of High Desert Cosmic Americana at The Pecan Grill and Brewery. Admission is free, and the band brings a mix of outlaw country, bluegrass, jazz, and other influences for an unforgettable live performance.

Enjoy a public night-sky viewing at the Leasburg Dam observatory. The Astronomical Society of Las Cruces will open the facility and use a 16" Meade SCT telescope, along with additional telescopes if available. With the Moon below the horizon and clear skies, you can see the Milky Way, and through the telescopes you may view nebulae, globular clusters, planetary nebulae, and distant galaxies. Admission is free, though the park charges fees for some vehicles and there are exemptions for NM plates during certain months.
