Closing Celebration: Sandroing: Tracing Kastom in Vanuatu

An afternoon program marks the conclusion of Sandroing: Tracing Kastom in Vanuatu, highlighting the artists and cultural bearers who shaped the exhibition. Remarks are planned from Kaitip Wulep Kami, Curator at the Vanuatu Kaljoral Senta, and Felicia Katz-Harris, Director of Curatorial Affairs at MOIFA. Traditional dance and sandroing will be demonstrated by Practitioner Edgar Hinge, members of his family, and other cultural knowledge keepers. Storytelling and cultural sharing will flow throughout the event. ASL interpretation will be available. Light refreshments will be offered. The exhibition is supported in part by the US Embassy in Vanuatu, the International Folk Art Foundation, and the Museum of New Mexico Foundation.
