    Carsie Blanton and more

Albany · Lark Hall, 351 Hudson Ave

Singer and songwriter Carsie Blanton returns with a night of radical folk rooted in sharp hooks, fearless spirit, and hard-won optimism. In addition to her music, Blanton is active as a political organizer. In the fall of 2025 she joined the Global Sumud Flotilla, a direct action effort to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza by sailboat. After a month at sea, she spent five days imprisoned in Israel along with many fellow participants. Soon after, she released The Little Flame, a solidarity song that spread widely on social media during that period. The track features background vocals by Ye Vagabonds and Rana Hamida and appears on her latest release, The Red Album Vol II. With two decades on the road, she has built a devoted following, notched several viral tracks, and frequently fills mid-sized venues across the United States and Europe. In 2026 she is touring extensively with her own band and at times collaborating with Canadian folk-punk rabble-rousers The Burning Hell, while continuing her organizing work with Artists Against Apartheid, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and others.

    Nicole Atkins

Albany · Lark Hall, 351 Hudson Avenue

Nicole Atkins performs at Lark Hall with special guest John Gallagher Jr., bringing a set shaped by vivid storytelling and a voice that leans into grand emotion. Her latest album, Drama, grew from life on the road and the realities of a long distance marriage, with songs written through stretches of insomnia and uncertainty. She describes writing as a way to push back against isolation, aiming to make listeners feel more connected. Drama blends classic pop and soul colors with a modern sensibility. Songs like Trippin’ On Teardrops, For No One, Danny, and Singing In The Mirror highlight lush arrangements, noir-tinged moods, and big melodic hooks while staying rooted in personal narratives. Rather than revisiting a bygone era, Atkins filters her influences into something distinctly her own. Raised in Neptune City, New Jersey, she grew up on the dramatic singers found in her family’s record collection and set her course after discovering an old acoustic guitar. Early recognition followed her debut Neptune City, along with tours with The Black Keys and Nick Cave. A move to Nashville later refreshed her focus within a close-knit songwriting community. Drama came together with producer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Sansone. Core tracks were recorded live with her touring band, including John Paul Keith on guitar and Danny Banks on drums, then finished with intimate studio touches. Contributors such as Eric Slick, Dan Creamer, and Davey Horne add dimension to arrangements that underline her goal of crafting contemporary songs with timeless melodic appeal.
