Smith Point Beach Suffolk County Parks Junior Lifeguard Program

Suffolk County Parks lifeguards present a Junior Lifeguard Program that helps young swimmers ages 6 to 15 build water safety skills and learn about the ocean and coastal environment under the guidance of professional lifeguards. Ages 6 to 9 meet at Meschutt Beach and must be able to swim 25 yards without stopping, enter the water, and submerge without assistance. Ages 10 to 15 meet at Smith Point County Park and must be able to swim 50 yards continuously, enter the water, and go under on their own. A parent or guardian is required to remain on site for the entire session, as this is not a drop off program. Registration is required for this free program, and beach parking fees may apply. All participants must complete a Waiver of Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement and bring it on the first day of participation. On program days, please arrive early and check in at the lifeguard office with a beach captain.

Beach Healing Retreat

Those who have their own tarot or oracle cards and a drum are encouraged to bring them. Bathrooms are within walking distance, and a nearby beach house will serve as a convenient home base. On the island, one restaurant, one market, and one snack bar are open and they accept cash only. After the group portion concludes, there is space for continued connection over dinner, photos, and lighthearted fun. A full moon on the horizon is expected to add an uplifting energy to the experience. The day is facilitated by Heather, Vanessa, and Olivia, three women who work closely with spirit, share a passion for helping people deepen their connection to spirit and to themselves, and believe everyone deserves to live a beautiful life. Tickets are non-refundable but transferable, and if inclement weather leads to cancellation at the hosts’ discretion, a full refund will be issued.

Presented by the Babylon Beautification Society, this annual fair transforms Argyle Park in Babylon Village into a premier outdoor showcase on Long Island. More than 325 craft makers and local artists share handmade fashion, accessories, home decor, art, toys, jewelry, bags, food, and more. Past editions have welcomed over 35,000 attendees, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the park and the Village Gazebo area. The Specialty Food Market features more than 35 vendors with homemade treats and pantry favorites, including baked goods, nut bars, jams and preserves, artisanal cheeses, honey, spices, hot sauces, and other condiments. Additional food choices, beer and wine, and live entertainment add to the festivities. Families will find a dedicated children’s area with activities at Bayman Park across the canal. As the primary fundraiser for the Babylon Beautification Society, all net proceeds support beautification projects in Babylon Village, and the event is run entirely by volunteers.

Expect to be on the water for about 60 to 90 minutes, weather permitting. Bring your own kayak. Crazy Cash 2026 is a cash-prize fundraiser benefiting the Liberty Hose Company of the Lindenhurst Fire Department.
