A New York State of Ska celebration brings four New York artists to Kaal Rock Park for a vibrant mix of ska, rocksteady, ska punk, and reggae. The concert is free and open to all ages, with hometown artist Ben Basile headlining. A bassist, educator, and composer from the Hudson Valley, Basile leads an all-star band that blends ska, reggae, and jazz. His debut solo album, Benergy, was released on Sleep Walk Sounds, an imprint of Wiretap Records, and his work spans performances, compositions, recordings, and tours across six continents, including roles with Big D and The Kids Table and The Poughkeepsie Jazz Project. The Doomstompers from Queens deliver punk-rocksteady shaped by 60s Jamaican ska, reggae, and rocksteady, along with influences such as Bad Brains, The Beastie Boys, and MF Doom. This organ-forward five piece salutes New York City’s grit while forging its own distinct sound, with a debut album titled Take A Beat on Bad Time Records. Albany trio Girth Control channels the many flavors of punk into catchy ska punk singalongs where hooks and humor meet real heart. Formed by members of upstate staples Public Access and The Slaughterhouse Chorus, they keep things tuneful, honest, and fun. From Buffalo, The Abruptors fuse ska, reggae, and rocksteady with an upbeat drive. Signed to Asian Man Records, they have cemented their spot in the scene and are highlighting their release Everything You Know Is Wrong, a collection that tackles mental health, navigating upheaval, and conversations they view as essential.

NYC high school teacher and comedian Gaspare Randazzo takes the stage at Silk Factory for an evening of stand-up shaped by 14 years in the classroom, sharing unfiltered stories about life as an educator and the students who keep him on his toes. When he is not grading papers, he tours the country, co-hosts The Social Studies Podcast with Joe Dombrowski, and appears on the Netflix series The Trust. Educators, parents, and anyone who has ever sat at a school desk can expect relatable storytelling and plenty of laughs. Presented by Silk Factory and Diamond Grade Media Entertainment. Ticket options include VIP access with a post-show meet and greet, general admission, single seats along the wall, and bar standing.

Put your accuracy and speed to the test at a steel plate shooting event with classes available for both rifle and handgun. Breakfast is available for purchase. Entry is $20 for adults and $10 for youth. Approved handgun calibers are .22 rimfire, 9 mm, .38 Special, .40, and .45 ACP. Rifles are limited to .22 LR only, and magnum loads are not permitted. Rifles and handguns must be transported in a bag and unbagged only at the firing line. Participants should bring 200 rounds of ammunition and at least three magazines, with five recommended. Collector Takeover returns to Kingston, NY for a full day of buying, selling, and trading at Best Western Kingston. Collectors, families, vendors, and special guests will gather for a lively marketplace featuring Pokémon, sports cards, trading card games, toys, anime, and other pop culture collectibles, with options ranging from vintage pieces and modern releases to sealed products and rare finds. The show includes a vendor floor, opportunities to trade, and family-friendly activities.
