A sit-in with the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the early 1970s led to collaborations with harmonica player Shakin Smith and a move back to Buffalo. After years performing across the U.S. and Canada, he formed The Jony James Band in the early 1990s, toured the East and Southeast, released two albums with Blue Wave Records, produced five independent recordings, and earned induction into the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame.
