No prior performance experience is required. The gathering unfolds in two parts. The first is an immersive workshop on foundational clown principles, using group and solo exercises to discover what makes each person uniquely funny while practicing presence, play, and creative risk taking. The second is a devising session dedicated to creating original clown material, whether solo, duo, or ensemble, offering space to test ideas or discover them in the moment. The focus is on theatrical clowning rather than circus traditions. There are no red noses, juggling, or tricks, and the emphasis stays on authentic connection, genuine laughter, and the beauty of imperfection in performance. Instruction is led by Jack and Zoe, American clowns who met while training at École Philippe Gaulier in France. They create original clown theatre, including A Night of Drama, recognized by Time Out New York among the best shows of 2024, and Dog Funeral, praised by Cog Journal for its unconventional and humorous take on grief. Their work has appeared in New York City, London, and at the Edinburgh Fringe, Ventnor Fringe, and on a Northeast US tour, and they have performed with Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe, with the London Clown Festival at Soho Theatre, and at The Weekend of Weird at Brighton Fringe.

Grammy nominated vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer Thana Alexa Pavelić leads a boundary crossing jazz program that blends acoustic improvisation with global colors and electronic textures, with a throughline that highlights social activism, mental health awareness, and the amplification of women’s voices. Her 2025 project, Resonance, explores the ways music and specific frequencies can influence the body at the physiological and molecular level and shape mental well-being. Her artistry has earned praise from outlets such as DownBeat and the New York Times. A vital part of her artistic story is her long-running collaboration with her husband, four time Grammy winner Antonio Sánchez, known for the Birdman film score and his two decades with Pat Metheny. Together they have contributed to nine recordings across her work and his groups Migration and Bad Hombre, and were recently commissioned to create Existencia, a piece for voice, drums, and physical movement. On stage, Alexa performs on voice with live loops, effects, and percussion, joined by Rachel Eckroth on piano and keys with vocals, Kaveh Rastegar on bass with vocals, and Jacqueline Acevedo on percussion with vocals.
