Madhouse hosts weekly One Piece Standard Local Tournaments each Wednesday featuring Standard Constructed play with Swiss pairings in best of one rounds. Every participant receives a promo, the winner earns a One Piece Winner Card, and one player chosen by dice roll is awarded a One Piece Judge card. Additional store credit prizing scales with attendance. The entry fee is $5. Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome, and the environment is LGBTQ+ friendly. Rising costs and unexpected bills can strain any household budget. Meals of Hope offers a welcoming grocery selection to help individuals and families stretch food dollars during financially stressful times. Shoppers choose from pantry staples along with a rotating mix of refrigerated and frozen items donated by local grocery stores and restaurants. Quantities are based on household size, and to share resources widely the program asks households to limit visits to twice per month while donations remain limited. First-time visitors complete a brief intake form, and no proof of income is required. The program serves residents of Niagara County and the City of Tonawanda, and anyone who needs food will be assisted. Remember to bring reusable bags. Friendly volunteers are available to help select items, bag groceries, and carry them to your vehicle. The Hope Closet clothing program will also be open during this event, so both services can be visited in one trip. Meals of Hope is a community outreach program of The Gathering Place Project.

Presented by the Down Syndrome Parents Group of WNY, this event at Canalside features a 1-mile walk route along the inner harbor waterfront. Registration is now open at $20 and includes a free event t-shirt if submitted before the deadline. After the deadline, a limited number of shirts will be available for purchase at the walk. All registrants will also receive a $5 food truck voucher to use on the day of the event. Rain or shine.

On select Saturdays through October, Solar Saturdays invites visitors to safely observe the Sun through specialized telescopes, weather allowing, then head to the rooftop for sweeping views across the Buffalo Niagara region and beyond. Coco in Concert Live to Film pairs the movie with a live performance of Michael Giacchino’s score by the BPO, with the full film projected overhead. The story follows Miguel, a boy who longs to be a musician, as he ventures into the Land of the Dead, a journey centered on family, memory, and heart. With the orchestra in the room, laughs feel bigger, quiet moments resonate together, and the music feels alive. Lancaster Thrills returns for its 4th year with free admission and an expanded layout to provide more room to move and enjoy the performances. This Halloween themed celebration offers fun for all ages, featuring local businesses, extra vendors, live entertainment, and plenty of photo opportunities. Highlights include a haunted house, candy and caramel apples, cotton candy, kettle corn, ice cream, face painting, fall and Halloween vendors, musical performances by MAWNY, appearances by actors from Nickel City Fear Co, a Thriller flash mob by The 716 Dance Lab, performances by BeWitched Buffalo, Ghostbusters, the chance to hop in a hearse, tarot readings and psychics, and pumpkins with apple cider, with more to discover.

Cars & Coffee returns to Wimbledon Lanes for the seventh gathering of the season, and the mood has shifted to full-on fall. Cooler air, changing leaves, and a playful hint of Halloween set the tone as engines sound a little sharper and chrome catches the autumn light. Expect a wide mix of vehicles, from vintage standouts and muscle to modern builds, plus motorcycles and trucks, all showing off with extra attitude. The event welcomes families, coffee will be flowing, and while costumes are optional, personality is encouraged. It is a seasonal edition that blends community energy with creative builds and a touch of spooky fun.

The first-ever DayCrawlers Bazaar arrives at Buffalo Iron Works, presented by Buffalo Events Marketplace. This 1950s themed Halloween gathering offers vintage spooky fun for all ages. Expect an afternoon of shopping with local vendors, live music, pumpkin decorating, games, and plenty of tasty treats. A retro costume contest invites participants to show off poodle skirts, leather jackets, and other classic looks with a spooky twist. All ages are welcome. Ticketing follows New York State all-in pricing, so the admission price shown includes all fees, taxes, and charges with no hidden add-ons.

Laurie Berkner brings a lively solo show to Buffalo State Performing Arts Center, filled with singalong favorites and plenty of chances to dance. Expect beloved tunes like Victor Vito, We Are The Dinosaurs, Pig On Her Head, Waiting For The Elevator, and Chipmunk At The Gas Pump, along with newer songs. Families are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal to perch on a head and to wear shoes made for moving. Regular tickets are available at $42.50, $49.50, and $59.50, plus applicable fees. Children under one year old who sit on a lap attend for free. A Meet and Greet add-on is offered for $50 per person, which includes an after-show visit with Laurie and preferred seating, with a limited quantity available. Each ticket includes a $1 contribution to Read To Succeed Buffalo, supporting early literacy through third grade, with help from Twinkle Arts for Good.
