Ashley provides spoken facilitation and live visual projections that deepen the passage, shaping an embodied experience where attentive presence becomes medicine. The line between performer and audience is meant to blur so the collective focus of those present helps influence what unfolds, in service to the music and to life, with beauty as a guide and protection. All ages are welcome. The container is substance free and phone free. The space is ADA accessible with an open floor and balcony access. Ecstatic Dance Columbus is a weekly Sunday gathering that began in early October 2022, holding a wordless, phone-free, judgment-free, shoe-free, and substance-free dance floor. The community has maintained consecutive weekly dances and has featured artists including Poranguí, Mose, Liquid Bloom, Savej, Equanimous, David Starfire, Beat Kitty, Soohan, Iyakuh, and Yemanjo.

An evening of readings celebrates Weston Morrow’s poetry collection, Cloud Builder, with featured readings by Elissa Washuta and Chris Vanjonack at Prologue Bookshop. The collection probes what the living owe the dead and what the living owe one another, following threads of legacy and remembrance under the steady gaze of those who came before. Morrow’s poems travel from the worlds of the late Romantics to present day soccer fields and baseball diamonds in Washington State, reviving figures from personal and shared history. Along the way, artists and musicians, collapsed bridges, weathered ferries, and quiet volcanoes rise on the page as the work weighs whether the departed ask something of us, or whether it is the living who keep circling the past. Weston Morrow is the author of Cloud Builder and a winner of the National Poetry Series. His poetry has appeared in Boulevard, The Adroit Journal, Poetry Northwest, and other outlets. He holds graduate degrees in creative writing and English literature from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign and Central Washington University, previously worked in print journalism, and teaches writing at The Ohio State University. Elissa Washuta, a member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, is the author of White Magic, Starvation Mode, and My Body Is a Book of Rules. She coedited Shapes of Native Nonfiction with Theresa Warburton and is an associate professor at The Ohio State University, where she teaches in the MFA Program in Creative Writing. Her forthcoming book, The Big Score, is an experimental business memoir that explores money, video games, and illness and will be published by Washington Square Press. Chris Vanjonack is a writer and educator from Denver, Colorado. A recipient of an AWP Intro Journals Award, his fiction and creative nonfiction have appeared in One Story, the Book of the Month Club’s Volume 0, Barrelhouse, Electric Literature, Ninth Letter, DIAGRAM, and other publications. He holds an MFA from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, teaches creative writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and has a debut short story collection titled Out of Body forthcoming.

Parking is free in the gravel lot, and entry is through the building marked “Cave Entrance.” Participants will go down multiple flights of stairs to reach the space. The cave can be damp and muddy, including the area where attendees rest, and it stays noticeably cooler than outside, so plan clothing and footwear with that in mind. Participants will meet in the parking lot or museum area and then enter together as a group. Access to the space involves descending 58 stairs, so tennis shoes are recommended for the walk. Once on your mat, you can practice barefoot or in socks. The cave stays about 55 degrees throughout the year, so dress for cooler temperatures since this is not a heated class. Bring a yoga mat, which is required. An old beach towel is strongly encouraged to place under your mat because the cave floor can be damp and a bit muddy.

There is no game library on site, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own titles, and “looking for players” signs will help groups form. At Worthington Manor on a stormy night for Edward Worthington’s 50th birthday, a house full of relatives, associates, and staff all carry motives. In the mix are his current wife and her playboy brother, Edward’s perplexed older sister, his former wife, and a daughter in college. Also attending are a questionable lawyer, a strict business manager with his bubbly spouse, a secretary with Southern charm, and the household team... the butler, housekeeper, maid, and cook. The motives have barely surfaced when the lights go out, and when they return the knife meant for the cake is lodged in Edward’s back. From there, Walter invites the audience to help single out the culprit, shaping a lively comic whodunit together. Tickets are on sale.
