The tale follows Ebenezer Scrooge as visits from the ghost of his former business partner and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come lead him toward a kinder way of life. The production offers opportunities for experienced and novice performers across generations in a family-friendly setting. Adults and children in first grade and above may audition for 30 speaking roles, including Bob Cratchit and his family, ghosts, and townspeople. Scrooge has already been cast. Children can also take part in a chorus singing carols during the show. No audition-time sign-up is required. Auditions are open regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, or age. Casting decisions use an identity-conscious approach, with female-presenting and male-presenting actors considered for roles according to how the characters are written.

The keynote speaker is Major General Deborah Ashenhurst, a retired U.S. Army and National Guard officer and former Director of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services.
