Free Shakespeare in the Park Theatre Company teams up with Amazon Community Center to present Shakespeare’s romantic drama The Winter’s Tale at the Amazon Park South Lawn Amphitheater. This outdoor celebration on Fountain Plaza is presented with H.O.N.E.Y. and the Eugene-Springfield NAACP. It is part of Summer Reading 2026: Plant a Seed, Read, a free, all-ages multicultural series on Fountain Plaza at the Springfield Public Library that showcases renowned artists and cultural leaders. After the program, Food for Lane County offers a free lunch on the plaza for children ages 1 to 18, while supplies last. The series is created in collaboration with community partners including Springfield Public Schools, Native Youth Wellness, Chifin Native Youth Center, UO Home Flight Scholars Program, Many Nations Longhouse, UO Sapsik’ʷałá Teacher Education Program, 4J NATIVES, Bethel Native Youth Empowerment, LCC Longhouse and NASA, NAACP, Black Cultural Initiative, Lane County Government, Comunidad y Herencia Cultural, Eugene Arte Latino, Asian Foundation of Oregon, Oregon Multigenerational Community Center, and The Nativity of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Parish of Springfield.

Big Wednesdays features summer evenings with food, games, and dessert, each built around a different theme. Themes include Construction Worker Night, Sports Rivals Night, Gardening Night, and Fun Night. There is a raffle at every gathering, and attendees receive an additional ticket for each friend they bring. Guests can take part in a single night or all four.

Island Park sets the scene for an evening of live music as Honey Brown Band takes the stage as part of an outdoor concert series that highlights a different group each night across multiple genres. This Top 40 cover act blends current chart favorites with well-known classics, performing two sets separated by a 20-minute intermission. General admission is $5, or free with the donation of two non-perishable food items. Bring blankets or chairs to relax on the lawn. Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase, and you may also bring a picnic, a fillable water bottle, and sealed non-alcoholic beverages. Please plan to take home anything that is not claimed, though leftover swap items can be collected and saved for future community exchanges. The quiet neighborhood setting of Thurston Park supports closer conversation with less commotion, offering a relaxed way to slow down and spend time with local families.

At Island Park, The Sugar Beets team up with Robert Ruggiero, the drummer who has worked with Van Morrison for more than 25 years. They will perform Side One of Van Morrison's Moondance, with Ruggiero on stage throughout the set following a European tour with Morrison. The program also features Sugar Beets songs and other lively, dance friendly summer tunes. Admission is $5 per person, or free with a donation of two cans of non-perishable food to support the Willamalane Park and Recreation District food pantry.

This family-friendly soccer night at Thurston Middle School offers fresh air, fun, and exercise with no cost and no registration required. Background-checked, experienced coaches and board volunteers will be on hand to support kids and answer questions. Attendees can learn about AYSO and its fifty years of youth recreational soccer. Adults can also take part, with interest building toward starting an adult league.

Baseball and the magic of the Emerald City come together at PK Park with the Eugene Emeralds. Enjoy live moments from Rose Children's Theater, themed fun throughout the game, and a costume parade that steps onto the dugout. A live vocal performance as Elphaba adds to the spectacle, and the Glinda Glitter Station will support Girls on the Run by offering face and hair sparkles in exchange for donations. When the final out is recorded, the night continues with a full drone show lighting the sky. Guests are encouraged to wear pink or green and share the experience with friends.

Toxic Mopar hosts its sixth annual muscle car show at Willamette High School in Eugene, bringing enthusiasts together while supporting local schools through donated supplies. Entries of every year and model are welcome, and registration is a $10 school supply donation. The day features a 50/50 raffle, prize drawings, awards, and event merchandise. Look forward to a wide range of muscle cars, friendly conversation, and a shared effort to give back to the community. Organizers encourage spreading the word to fellow muscle car fans.
