Bailonga, a friendly and casual Argentine tango community, gathers in the Upstairs Ballroom at the Vet’s Club for an evening of learning and social dancing. This session features two lesson options to get you moving. Newcomers can start in the From Zero fundamentals class with Noah Brenner, while returning dancers can build skills in the Continuing Beginner class with Galen Wright-Watson. No partner is needed, and experienced dancers are welcome to take either lesson. After class, the floor opens for social dancing to a half-and-half blend of traditional and alternative tango music selected by DJ Kella. Greenhill Humane Society is offering a no-cost TNR spay and neuter clinic for community cats, with all fees covered by a donor. This service is for unowned, free-roaming cats and is not intended for owned pets. Each cat will receive sterilization, ear-tipping for permanent identification, FVRCP and rabies vaccines, parasite treatment, and long-lasting pain relief. Advance scheduling is required, and each appointment accommodates up to three cats per person because space is limited. All cats must arrive in individual humane live traps, one per trap regardless of temperament. At drop-off, staff will guide parking, assist with paperwork, and help unload traps. To reduce congestion, a pickup window will be assigned at drop-off, with flexibility if an earlier window cannot be met. Those who wish to spay it forward may contribute a suggested donation of $45 per cat to support future surgeries. A small number of traps are available to rent from the shelter, and additional options may be found at area stores such as The Farm Store, Junction City Farm & Garden, McKenzie Feed & Pet Supplies, and Pleasant Hill Feed & Farm Supply. For animal safety, do not set traps when outdoor temperatures exceed 85 degrees.

The event begins with lessons tailored to different experience levels. The From Zero class gives newcomers the fundamentals and does not require a partner. Expect a mix of music, and for this session the playlist is evenly split between alternative and traditional selections curated by DJ Kella. This biweekly support group welcomes adults who live with body focused repetitive behaviors such as hair pulling, skin picking, and nail biting. It offers a warm, judgment-free space to connect with peers, heal, and learn more about personal coping and growth. Participation is flexible, so anyone can simply listen until sharing feels comfortable. The group is facilitated by Sarah, a long-time member of the BFRB community who has personal experience with these behaviors and has been engaged since 2012 through retreats and conferences around the country, learning from leading researchers and clinicians. She founded BFRB Eugene nearly two years ago to bring a sense of community home and to help ease the isolation, pain, and shame that can come from facing these challenges alone. Loved ones and those seeking information or resources for youth are invited to connect as well. The emphasis is on reminding every attendee that they do not have to face BFRBs alone.

Recognized by notable artists including Nokie Edwards, Thom Bresh, John Jorgenson, and Mason Williams, he blends original compositions and inventive arrangements with country grooves, jazzy harmonies, and a touch of funk. Raised in Eugene, Oregon and mentored by Buster B. Jones, Robertson quickly moved from early festival appearances to high-profile performances at events such as NAMM, the Montreal Jazz Festival, and the Walnut Valley Festival. He won a talent competition on A Prairie Home Companion in 2004, earned top honors in Lee Ritenour’s Six String Theory competition, and graduated summa cum laude from Berklee with a focus on Contemporary Writing and Production and Music Business, along with a minor in the Theory of Jazz and Popular Music. Influenced by Merle Travis, Jerry Reed, Thom Bresh, Buster B. Jones, and inspired by Chet Atkins, his work has drawn comparisons to Lenny Breau and Earl Klugh. Designed for the Eugene area and the wider Willamette Valley, this session showcases plants that thrive locally, including a growing selection of native species and Asian and Central American varieties alongside well known annuals and perennials. While walking through the beds, see how these plants look in the garden, hear when and how to use them in the kitchen, and gather practical tips for growing, harvesting, and preserving them whether you tend containers, a suburban plot, or larger acreage. Plan to be on your feet and wear sturdy, garden friendly shoes. A small number of chairs will be available for those who need to sit, and bringing a folding chair is welcome. Photography of the plants is encouraged. Participants receive a list of featured herbs and a resource guide for further learning. Please note that dogs are not permitted at GrassRoots Garden. The talk is presented in partnership with GrassRoots Garden, a long time source of fresh produce for Food for Lane County programs, and the Oregon State University Extension Lane County Master Gardener Program, which offers science based education to the public. After the presentation, there is time for questions, an optional Weed Walk to learn to recognize common weeds, and a vegan lunch prepared by the garden chef that offers a chance to taste herbs used in the meal. Raised in a dancing family, he is committed to preserving and teaching the art of hoop dance. Tyrese Jensen is a seven-time world champion known for consistent, creative, and precise performances. Kailayne Jensen, a five-time world champion and Diné and Maricopa artist, holds multiple World Youth Champion titles at the Heard Museum and placed second in the Teen Division in 2025. She began dancing as a toddler and started training in Men’s Fancy Dance at age seven, continuing her family’s legacy with dedication, strength, and passion. Felt Your Own Wool Witch Hat!
Kismet hosts a hands-on wet felting workshop where participants create a one-of-a-kind wool witch hat using wool roving.
