Their story began in early 2024 when Barry Sless and Stephen Inglis paired for what was intended as a single appearance, then quickly expanded after a run of California shows. Rob Barraco joined Inglis during a Dark Star Orchestra performance at the Hawaii Theatre that April, and the musical chemistry among the three led to a trio that soon grew with the addition of Sless’s longtime partners Pete Sears on bass and Jay Lane on drums. Not Done Yet makes a return appearance at The Embers in Eugene, OR, bringing an eclectic blend of vintage classic rock.

A special 5th Sunday ballroom event offers a beginner lesson followed by social dancing that includes a Waltz mixer. A themed dress component is planned and will be announced, and a DJ will be named soon. Admission follows a suggested sliding scale of $2 to $15, payable by cash or check. Hosted by USA Dance Chapter 1010 Eugene Springfield Oregon, the event reflects the chapter’s mission to create a welcoming and supportive space for social dance. Please wear non-scuffing shoes to help protect the beautiful wooden floor. Dancing takes place upstairs in the Vet’s Club Ballroom.

In Junction City, a glowing holiday procession celebrates The Nutcracker, bringing illuminated floats and costumed characters to life. Nutcrackers, gingerbread soldiers, dolls, the Mouse King, and other favorites roll by in a sea of sparkling lights. A single Santa is part of the festivities, and walkers share store-bought treats along the way. This celebration is part of a regional series that also visits Harrisburg and Monroe, aimed at sharing a bit more holiday magic with the next generation. Those planning to enter the parade should build to The Nutcracker theme and include holiday lighting, keep entries within 13 feet 6 inches in height and 15 feet in width, display a business or group name if applicable, and complete a registration and waiver in advance since on-site signups are not available. Each entry must have at least two walkers aged 14 or older for safety, and riders should not get on or off floats while the parade is underway. Walkers may hand out candy or treats, but nothing may be thrown from vehicles or floats. Drivers must be 18 or older with a valid license and liability insurance. Follow all safety rules around railroad crossings, avoid any activity that could put the public at risk, and move to the side if a breakdown occurs. Alcohol is not permitted for participants before or during the procession or in the lineup area. Help keep streets clean, and ensure animal units have someone to manage cleanup.

Participants arrange their own reservations directly with the Oregon Horse Center and take part in an obstacle ride. After the ride, tea and cookies will be available.

Buck Meek takes the stage at the WOW Hall, presented by the Community Center for the Performing Arts. Known for songs that balance tenderness with fearless curiosity, he reshapes everyday moments into something luminous and invites listeners to reflect alongside him. His fourth solo album, The Mirror, and his second release with 4AD, grew from a close partnership with producer James Krivchenia. Together they wove the immediacy of a live band with an oblique electronic world, letting performances breathe in real time while modular synths and other devices opened new layers of sound. The album was created at Ringo Bingo, the log cabin studio Meek shares with Germaine Dunes, with vocals recorded on the front porch as the band played inside, and with engineer Adrian Olsen helping build a vivid parallel atmosphere. Friends and longtime collaborators added their voices and instruments, among them Adrianne Lenker, Adam Brisbin, Ken Woodward, Alex Somers, Mary Lattimore, Dylan Meek, and a rotating group of drummers, with Olsen also contributing modular synth work. Meek’s path runs from Wimberley, Texas to Boston to New York. He grew up in a family immersed in literature, psychology, and visual art, played his first gig at thirteen with Memphis bluesman Brandon Gist, and learned styles ranging from Manouche and ragtime to western swing and rock and roll in bars and community gatherings. After studying jazz in Boston, he found a circle of young musicians drawn to songwriting and house-show energy, then moved to New York, met Adrianne Lenker, toured the country together, and later co-founded Big Thief. Across The Mirror, Meek explores love, memory, doubt, and transformation. Warmth and grit sit side by side, humor meets reverence, and playful turns of language reveal fresh meanings. The result is music that treats reflection as a creative partner and keeps the questions alive.

Hosted by Overlap, this holiday "staff" party brings together people who work for themselves, work from home, work for no one, or simply do not click with their co-workers. Participants bring one gift under $10 for a blind exchange, with 20% off if the gift is purchased at the event. A $5 ticket includes light refreshments and snacks, plus entry into a raffle. Attendees may also bring their own non-alcoholic beverages or snacks for themselves or to share.

Hosted by SOLVE in partnership with the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative, this community cleanup focuses on beautifying Springfield by removing litter and recycling bottles and cans. Volunteers are encouraged to bring filled Green Bags from home to drop off for processing at the Redemption Center, then pick up SOLVE Blue Bags to take home. Any beverage containers collected during the cleanup will be donated to SOLVE. Through BottleDrop Give, supporters can fill specially tagged Blue Bags to benefit SOLVE, and BottleDrop account holders can donate directly from their Green Bag account. More information will be available at the event. Advanced registration is suggested to guarantee a spot, though it is not required. Volunteers will meet at the BottleDrop Redemption Center and can look for SOLVE signs. Please wear closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing, and bring a backpack for hands-free convenience. Personal tools are welcome if available, and a reusable water bottle is encouraged to support sustainability. Gloves, safety vests, litter grabbers, and trash bags will be provided. There are no public restrooms. A parking lot is available, and LCT Route 18 serves the area by transit. The location is accessible for people with mobility concerns. Spanish translation will not be available. All ages are welcome.

Adiantum Fighter Practice is an official SCA armored combat practice at the Creswell Community Center. Participants train in armored combat. In-person events can involve exposure to infectious diseases, and by taking part you acknowledge these risks and agree to take any additional steps you believe are necessary to protect your health and the health of those under your care.

Metal 4 Meals 3 unites the Northwest metal community for the third annual food drive in support of Food for Lane County. The event gathers food and raffle donations, showcases regional metal artists, strengthens their ongoing work, and contributes to The WOW Hall as a nonprofit venue while highlighting small local businesses that sponsor the effort. The lineup features Portland’s Dead Animal Assembly Plant with an industrial, theatrically inclined sound shaped by macabre themes, New World Sinner, a long-running Willamette Valley band led by Metal Boots and known to mix heavy music with occasional costumes, comedy and guest musicians, GraveWitch from Bend with a blend of thrash, black, death and melodic metal guided by founders Chris Fleming and Andrew Ingraham, Eugene’s Crucible Of Absolution delivering slamming deathcore and the debut single and video “Kingdom Of Bone,” Roseburg’s Oddities merging hardcore energy with deathcore, and Within Caskets, a recent addition to the Willamette Valley scene whose touring and live momentum have quickly built a loyal following. Raffles power the fundraising, with contributions that include tattoo certificates from Ashley Bridges Art, piercing gift cards from Area 51 Piercing, a forthcoming donation from Ritual Tattoo, a jewelry or curiosity art piece from Ruen Designs along with an on-site booth, a $500 contribution from Proper Built Inc. that provides 1,000 meals, and support from Bewitched Oddities with an art piece, a $50 gift card, vending, and a portion of sales for the cause. A newly added single raffle benefits The Eugene Burrito Brigade, offering six merch bundles from the participating bands so six winners each receive a bundle. Promotion support comes from 2 Black Sheets Productions, Kym Krash Entertainment and For Metal. Photography will be provided by David Putzier of Pixelscapes Photography and Dean Yarnell of Rock Photography, with For Metal also capturing photos and video. EbonPyre Printing and Design is introducing event shirts this year, contributing some for raffles and giveaways before each band and supplying additional shirts so proceeds can be shared with the cause and set aside for next year’s run.
