Free Shakespeare in the Park Theatre Company teams up with Amazon Community Center to present Shakespeare’s romantic drama The Winter’s Tale at the Amazon Park South Lawn Amphitheater. Pack a picnic, bring blankets and lawn chairs, and settle in with family and friends for an evening of outdoor theatre. All performances are free, suitable for all ages, and ADA accessible, with two shows offering ASL interpretation. Supported by City of Eugene Art in the Parks.

Move to vibrant Bollywood and Bhangra rhythms at a participatory dance party as DJ Prashant guides synchronized steps to energetic world dance music. This outdoor celebration on Fountain Plaza is presented with H.O.N.E.Y. and the Eugene-Springfield NAACP. It is part of Summer Reading 2026: Plant a Seed, Read, a free, all-ages multicultural series on Fountain Plaza at the Springfield Public Library that showcases renowned artists and cultural leaders. After the program, Food for Lane County offers a free lunch on the plaza for children ages 1 to 18, while supplies last. The series is created in collaboration with community partners including Springfield Public Schools, Native Youth Wellness, Chifin Native Youth Center, UO Home Flight Scholars Program, Many Nations Longhouse, UO Sapsik’ʷałá Teacher Education Program, 4J NATIVES, Bethel Native Youth Empowerment, LCC Longhouse and NASA, NAACP, Black Cultural Initiative, Lane County Government, Comunidad y Herencia Cultural, Eugene Arte Latino, Asian Foundation of Oregon, Oregon Multigenerational Community Center, and The Nativity of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Parish of Springfield.

At Centennial Steak House and Sports Bar, a lively interactive game show turns the dining room into a playful arena where you take part right from your table. Expect a rotating mix of fun challenges, plenty of laughs, and chances to win prizes. No trivia expertise or special skills are required, just a sense of humor. It is great for groups and date nights, and solo players can win as well. It is free to play, and teams of one to six can jump in without leaving their seats.

Hosted by Nathan Hart at The Pint Pot Public House, this open mic highlights the Eugene comedy scene alongside touring professionals who stop in to perform. Sign up at the bar for a five minute set and take a turn on the mic, or settle in to watch a varied lineup. No cover.

Enjoy a cozy weekly picnic at Thurston Park with Eugene Mom Exchange. Bring a blanket, picnic food, snacks, and anything your family needs to stay comfortable. Kids can play, snack, and make friends while moms take time to visit, trade, and build community. In the spirit of the exchange, attendees are encouraged to bring gently used family and children’s items to swap or pass along, such as clothing, shoes, toys, baby gear, maternity pieces, and books, or anything another family might appreciate. Please plan to take home anything that is not claimed, though leftover swap items can be collected and saved for future community exchanges. The quiet neighborhood setting of Thurston Park supports closer conversation with less commotion, offering a relaxed way to slow down and spend time with local families.

At Island Park, The Sugar Beets team up with Robert Ruggiero, the drummer who has worked with Van Morrison for more than 25 years. They will perform Side One of Van Morrison's Moondance, with Ruggiero on stage throughout the set following a European tour with Morrison. The program also features Sugar Beets songs and other lively, dance friendly summer tunes. Admission is $5 per person, or free with a donation of two cans of non-perishable food to support the Willamalane Park and Recreation District food pantry.

This family-friendly soccer night at Thurston Middle School offers fresh air, fun, and exercise with no cost and no registration required. Background-checked, experienced coaches and board volunteers will be on hand to support kids and answer questions. Attendees can learn about AYSO and its fifty years of youth recreational soccer. Adults can also take part, with interest building toward starting an adult league.

Local stand-up favorites share the stage with touring talent from around the Pacific Northwest for a night of sharp, hard-hitting comedy. The show takes place in the Cattail Lounge at Wetlands Brew Pub and Sports Bar in west Eugene and is a free showcase highlighting comics from Lane County and nearby communities. With a vibrant scene that includes multiple clubs, popular pop-up shows, and regular theater-scale appearances by nationally touring acts, surprise drop-ins are always possible at The Wetlands. The evening is hosted by Jen Jay, recognized by Eugene Weekly as one of Eugene’s best comedians for three consecutive years, and Nathan Hart, a writer for The Hard Times and a nationally touring performer with Don't Tell Comedy.
