An opening reception at Cherry Street Pier celebrates Philadelphia’s creative spirit through the work of seven artists born in 1976, the year of the nation’s Bicentennial. Curated by Cherry Street Pier resident artist Bonnie MacAllister, the exhibition brings together painters, designers, storytellers, and multidisciplinary creators whose work reflects the culture, creativity, and experiences that have shaped the city over the past 50 years. Through painting, mixed media, illustration, design, and storytelling, it explores identity, community, imagination, and the evolving American experience. Featured artists include Shawn Alleyne, Anastasia Crisostomo-Dawan, Justin Duerr, Bonnie MacAllister, Athena Astraea Scott, Keni Thomas, and Michael N. Thomas. Presented during Philadelphia’s America 250 celebrations, the show highlights a generation whose lives began during the nation’s Bicentennial and whose work continues to influence the city’s cultural landscape. Sistah Soul Series 2026 brings soulful energy, smooth sounds, and a welcoming sense of community to Cherry Street Pier on the Philadelphia waterfront. Presented by Shekhinah B. of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, this free, all-ages music gathering features vocalists, poets, instrumentalists, and DJs sharing R&B, jazz, soul, and improvisation beneath the pier lights. Designed for artists and audiences alike, it creates space to relax and discover fresh talent while celebrating Philadelphia’s creative spirit.

Spruce Street Harbor Park hosts a Latin dance night spotlighting salsa and bachata. The event is free and open to everyone, welcoming all ages and skill levels. The evening begins with an upbeat salsa lesson taught by a professional instructor, followed by a live set from DJ Valentin of Dance Philly featuring a mix of bachata, salsa, and other Latin favorites. Refresh with cold drinks, pick up tasty bites from food vendors, and share the floor with friends or a date as the music carries on. No ticket or prior experience is required, just enthusiasm for dancing.

Thrillerdelphia hosts a fizzy alternative to wine tastings with Faygo Fridays. Free Faygo samples are poured with near-ritual care while guests explore offbeat flavors, debate the merits of Moon Mist, and sip neon-colored drinks that look almost unreal. Expect a playful blend of books, sugar, impulsive choices, and community that captures the spirit of a Friday.

Celebrate salsa and bachata at LOVE Park with an evening presented by Dance Republic in collaboration with Siempre Salsa Philly, LOVE Park, Fairmount Park Conservancy, and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. The event features a lesson taught by Dance Republic instructors and music from DJ Kevin Ngo. Admission is free and the experience is open to all.

Roll Call Fridays brings a weekly blend of roller skating and dance to Independence Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest. Curated by Shekhinah B. of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, the night features live DJ sets, surprise pop-up performances, and giveaways. Attendees can skate, dance, or simply enjoy the lively community atmosphere as music and movement come together throughout the summer.

This open stewardship gathering welcomes visitors to take part in hands-on habitat work on the Refuge. Participants meet at the Visitor's Center, then collaborate with experienced Weed Warriors who demonstrate techniques for removing invasive plants and for planting native species. The goal is to enhance native plant diversity and strengthen food sources for wildlife while building practical conservation skills.

Explore Cliveden with free tours of the house. Tours begin in the Cliveden Barn and lead visitors through the grounds and into the first and second floors of the house. No registration in advance is required. Along the way, guests can view two exhibitions, Procuring Liberty in the Emerging Nation and Looking Glass.

AvantBlk is a free cultural festival at Cherry Street Pier celebrating the Afro-Centric and Black diaspora through music, art, style, and community. Enjoy live performances, DJ sets throughout the day, a curated vendor marketplace featuring clothing, art, beauty, and lifestyle products, plus interactive cultural activations and a fashion-focused moment. Entry is first come, first served, and food vendors are not permitted.

Ardmore Rock N' Ride festival blends a bike race with live music in one celebration. The lineup includes Too Many Zooz, Young Gun Silver Fox, Palmyra, Oh He Dead, Sicard Hollow, Steal Your Peach, Brass Queens, and Wareika Hill. Admission is free.

Enjoy a creative afternoon at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with Family Art Day, a free program for all ages that encourages making art together. Participants can take part in a monthly make-and-take activity, experiment with new materials, explore the museum, and bring home their own artwork. Museum admission is included with the program. Advance registration is required.

Family Fun Day with PopUpPlay brings hands-on activities to Spruce Street Harbor Park, turning the waterfront into a place where families can imagine, build, and create together. It is free for everyone and welcomes all ages. Stations feature creative crafts and beginner-friendly STEM projects that invite kids and grown-ups to tinker, design, and experiment side by side. Offerings change regularly, with themes like Wacky Ways to Paint, Build a Boat, Create String Art, Clay Creations, Making Miniatures, Shadow Puppets, PopUpPlay’s Board Game Lab, PopUpPlay’s Cardboard Carnival, and Make Things Fly with catapults. Participation is first come, first served while supplies last, and every visit offers a friendly space to explore, collaborate, and make lasting memories as a family.

A blues jam led by Mikey Junior & Friends takes place at The Twisted Tail. Expect live blues and space for dancing, with dinner and drinks available from the venue. All ages are welcome, and there is no cover charge.
