OX-TOBERFEST brings a daylong slate of track action to the fairgrounds, featuring an Antique Tractor Pull, a 4x4 Truck Pull, and the 2nd Annual Western Pennsylvania Pedal Tractor Pull Championship. Eligible participants are boys and girls who placed between first and fifth at fairs or festivals in Western Pennsylvania. Competitors are separated by gender and by age, with divisions for ages 4 to 5, 6 to 7, 8 to 9, and 10. Entrants must not have turned 11 by the time of the event. Entry forms are available online, and there is a $5 fee for each participant. Questions can be sent via private message or email. Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring are welcome.

Long Road Home delivers a mix of classic rock, southern rock, and country, featuring their own original songs.

The inaugural relay celebrates the South Carolina Lowcountry with a course of about 68 miles from Summerville to Mount Pleasant. Teams of three to six runners share 12 legs that span 3 to 9 miles, supported by a team vehicle that shuttles runners to and from exchange points along the route. The journey moves through Charleston’s historic areas, over barrier islands, and past coastal marshes before ending with views of the Cooper River. A finish line celebration at the Lawn at Ferry Wharf features live music, food, and brews to cap the day.

Taking place at Sykesville Town Hall, this bingo fundraiser benefits the Sykesville Public Library, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Tickets are $30 and include a dauber, ten regular rounds with three cards per game, and a meal. Extra bingo cards will be available to purchase. Four special rounds and a final blackout jackpot add to the excitement. Cards for the specials and the jackpot are sold as sets of three for $5. Regular winners receive book or genre themed baskets. Special round prizes include a standout book or a duology paired with a themed basket. The jackpot awards a trilogy or the first three titles of a series along with a themed basket. Shannon’s Catering provides the meal, featuring a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, coleslaw, a small bag of chips, a baked treat, and a beverage. Additional drinks and snacks will be available for purchase. A 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction are also planned. Tickets are available at the library.

Created in Brooke’s memory, this workout features 100 air squats, 120 power cleans, 100 push-ups, 130 deadlifts, and 100 burpees, followed by a cash out of 2001 jump ropes. Every number and movement holds special meaning. Variations are available so all fitness levels can take part. The aim is to step beyond your comfort zone and push through in honor of Brooke.
