Pack a lunch and settle in for a relaxed picnic on the lawn at the Lackawanna County Children’s Library. Blankets will be available to borrow. Families with kids of any age are welcome. Because this is outdoors, it runs only in suitable weather.

Enjoy a relaxed coloring session at the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, featuring a wide range of supplies and an assortment of pages suited to every experience level. All materials are available on site, and the activity is designed for children of all ages.

To help Scranton area kids prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, a school supply collection will take place at Walmart Dickson City. The goal is to fill a truck with collected supplies so students have what they need when classes begin.

Hats and socks will be provided to dye, and a limited number of T-shirts will be available while supplies last. Participants are welcome to bring their own items to personalize. Children will work on circle-time behavior, imaginative play, and everyday classroom routines, with each session built around a theme aligned with Pennsylvania Learning Standards and kindergarten readiness skills. Intended for children starting kindergarten in fall 2026.
