Recently she has focused on her Dirty Rotten Swing Band project, which features a rotating lineup and blends Western Swing, jazz, and blues. Meet at the Parker St Trail Head for a group ride with two pacing options. The A Group focuses on a quicker training effort with paceline practice and an overall average of about 16 to 18 mph. The B Group offers a more relaxed experience with an introduction to group riding and moving through traffic, frequent opportunities to regroup, and an average around 12 to 15 mph. Both groups set out from the trail head and head north to Jermyn for a route of approximately 22.5 miles. First-time participants in any NEPA Velo group must sign a waiver and pay $5 in seasonal club dues to support insurance. Helmets are required.

Children will work on circle-time behavior, imaginative play, and everyday classroom routines, with each session built around a theme aligned with Pennsylvania Learning Standards and kindergarten readiness skills. Intended for children starting kindergarten in fall 2026.

Move Your Body with Karen Ritter delivers a welcoming workout set to upbeat music and a playful vibe. The session focuses on improving flexibility, joint mobility, strength, balance, and endurance without floor exercises or jumping, and a chair is available for support. Gentle resistance is added with simple tools like loops, weights, and blocks. The class may be held indoors or outdoors, so wear layers and bring water and sunglasses. New participants with OAOA can try one class for free. General drop-ins are supported by a $5 donation or $25 per month for unlimited sessions. Running for more than a decade, this free open mic at The V-Spot in Scranton is recognized as one of Northeastern Pennsylvania’s longest-running and most popular nights, drawing diverse lineups and enthusiastic crowds. Emerging and established local musicians, comedians, actors, performance artists, magicians, and others share the stage, and touring bands occasionally drop in between gigs. The evening also offers a chance to connect with fellow artists while gaining added exposure through a live stream and event photos. Sign-ups occur before the show, and a limited number of late sign-ups may be accepted, so early arrival helps secure a spot. Each act typically receives 10 to 15 minutes, adjusted based on turnout, and original material is encouraged. All performers are featured on live streams across Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, though copyrighted tracks can prevent some sets from appearing online. Photos of every act are later shared in the NEPA Scene Open Mic Facebook group for artists to download and use in their own promotion. Participants must be 18 or older. Those who are 18 to 20 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and valid identification is required for both. The venue provides a lit stage, a soundboard, two microphones, a pair of standard instrument cables, and a Mapex five-piece house drum kit. Full bands can take the stage, and performers using backing tracks may plug in a phone or laptop directly to the soundboard with provided audio cables. Any additional gear should be brought by the artist.

The new league season at Bartari spans eight weeks of competition with weekly qualifying in group match play. Each qualifying night features four rounds, players are grouped in fours when possible, and every player selects one machine for the evening. Points are awarded by finish using 7, 5, 3, 1 scoring, or 7, 4, 1 for three-player groups, and totals carry across all weeks toward the standings. After week seven, the two lowest or missed weeks are dropped. Week eight is finals for the top eight, played in four-player groups over three games using PAPA scoring of 4, 2, 1, 0. If a finalist cannot attend, seeds below shift up to keep the field full. For each game, the highest seed in the group chooses either the machine or position first, followed by the next highest seed, and so on. The top two from each group advance to one more round with the same format, and no player may choose the same game more than once during finals. Additional finals formats for those outside the main division will be set based on attendance. League dues are $20 plus coin drop for the machines played. All dues are returned through cash, trophies, prizes, and IFPA fees. As a Stern Army sponsored event, there is added prize support including translites and other giveaways.
