    Trio Art Show

Belvidere · Infloressense, 241 Water St

    Free

This free art show invites attendees to browse artwork in cozy pajamas while enjoying light refreshments, with a spotlight on three creators working in ceramics, wildlife photography, and pottery. Ceramic artist Margaret Southwell shares whimsical, one-of-a-kind animal sculptures inspired by 18th and 19th century ceramic figures from England, Europe, Japan, and China. She holds a B.A. from New York University and also studied at Parsons School of Design. Her path into restoration began in England and led to work for top dealers and collectors, with restored pieces in the collections of The Metropolitan Museum, the High Museum in Atlanta, and the Colonial Williamsburg Museum. Under the name Menagerie by M, she crafts vibrant sculptures of wildlife and domestic animals, and at times amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles. Wildlife photographer James C. Sengul, originally from Istanbul, began his career in sports photography before moving to the United States. During the pandemic he turned his lens more fully to birds, exploring their intelligence, behavior, and relationships. His images aim to share that perspective and encourage viewers to see birds and other wildlife with greater awareness and care. Full-time potter Kevin Blonski, owner of Earthen Goat, creates functional, production-style ceramics for everyday use. After discovering pottery in an open studio class, he honed his craft through steady practice at the wheel. His work is found at markets and shows across the East Coast, including the Easton Farmers Market, and he has taught at Propogate Studios and Juxtahub. In addition to utilitarian pieces, he explores themes of uncertainty, transformation, and clarity through organic forms, carved imagery, and recurring eye motifs inspired by nature and personal experience. Pajama-friendly browsing, light bites, and three distinct artistic voices come together for a relaxed celebration of craft and creativity.
