Ask the Author

New York Times bestselling author Barry Lyga visits Otto Bookstore to celebrate Every Hunter is Hunted, his 28th release set in the world of the I Hunt Killers trilogy. This adult mystery follows a chilling case of brides murdered on their wedding nights. With no clues to follow, the FBI turns to Jasper Dent, the son of two serial killers and a former teen prodigy at tracking them. Years after a final confrontation that left his father in prison and his mother in a coma, Jasper has tried to retreat from his past, supported by a successful memoir, yet the unsettling insight he wishes he did not possess pulls him back into the hunt. Shaken confidence and rusty skills cannot slow the race to stop the killer before more lives are lost. The event includes an ask me anything segment designed for aspiring writers seeking practical insight into the craft and process. Attendees can bring any question and Lyga will answer. Described by Kirkus Reviews as a YA rebel author, he is the creator of I Hunt Killers and many other works across young adult, middle grade, and graphic storytelling. His bibliography spans The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl and Boy Toy to projects tied to The Flash and Thanos, along with the superhero anthology Generation Wonder, and his books have been published in more than a dozen languages.

Tower site visit and mowing

Participants will meet at the Route 554 side of the gate, then head to the current tower site to cut the grass. After that, the group will continue about a half mile east to the other discussed tower site to look over the location and mow that area as well so it stays manageable if it is chosen. Bringing a couple of gas-powered weed wackers and two push mowers will help get both areas done efficiently. A chain saw could be useful, and drinks for the crew are welcome. The first site is expected to take about a half hour, with the second likely similar, possibly a bit longer depending on conditions and any discussion. This activity is open to anyone who is interested and available. To share what equipment you can bring or to ask questions, email KB3AWQ at fpcaptain@yahoo.com. A backup rain date is planned.
