EAST YORK WeeUsables Buying Event

Turn unused and outgrown kids items into instant cash at this pop-up buying event in the old Home Depot parking lot. Look for the white Penske box truck and plan for a quick visit, since most drop-offs take about 15 minutes from unload to offer. Reserve one slot per family and share a brief summary of what you plan to bring. Before the event, a text message will confirm an appointment time within the event window. On arrival, buyers review your items and present a quote on the spot. If you accept, you are paid immediately. If the offer is not a fit, you can take some or all items back with no obligation. To help secure the best offer, bring items that are clean, organized, and ready to sell. Bag small parts together, include instructions when needed, replace batteries, and check for recalls. Accepted categories include kids shoes in sizes 2T and up, outerwear such as light and heavy jackets, hoodies, quarter zips, sweaters, shrugs, coats, raincoats, vests, ponchos, snow pants, and snow bibs. Baby gear is welcome, including strollers, highchairs, jumperoos, swings, exersaucers, walkers, and Pack N Plays. Indoor and outdoor play items like playhouses, climbers, slides, kitchens, and tool benches are included, along with toys that have all parts, new games and puzzles, and wooden puzzles such as Melissa & Doug when every piece is accounted for. Items not accepted include bedding, blankets, towels, sheets, and bathtubs, swimsuits until after fall, books, and general clothing or accessories except kids shoes and winter outerwear in sizes 2T and up. Large wholesale drop-offs are not handled on site. Items that are recalled, expired, stained, torn, old, smelly, smoky, moldy, or covered in pet hair will not be purchased. Offers are based on how similar items have sold at past WeeUsables events. While the payout may be lower than consigning and tagging on your own, it provides immediate payment without the extra work. For questions, contact weebuyitnow@weeusablesevent.com or 717-415-7051.

Beginner's Kundalini Yoga

Explore foundational Kundalini practices in a welcoming class offered both online and in person. This experience introduces the essentials that support the nervous system, build steady energy, and nurture a sense of calm. Kundalini goes beyond simple stretching, weaving together thoughtfully sequenced movement, hand gestures, breathing techniques, and sound to awaken vitality and address intentions such as easing stress or encouraging creativity. Expect a calm, inclusive atmosphere with clear alignment guidance and comfortable options for every body. You can choose to include breathwork, mantra, and mudras to deepen meditation or personal spiritual exploration. The group is intentionally small with a maximum of eight participants, creating a supportive setting that many sensitive individuals may appreciate. Participants often pursue this practice to settle anxiety, replenish energy, and improve posture with healthy spinal curves. Gentle mobility and targeted strengthening help increase flexibility and core stability, which can benefit overall spinal health. The approach also strengthens the connection between mind and body, helping you notice and respond to imbalances that affect well-being. Instruction is led by Kara, a trauma-informed teacher who centers safety, choice, and body awareness. Her holistic method draws from multiple modalities to meet individual needs and emphasizes connection, community, and personal growth. Wear loose, comfortable clothing, bring a yoga mat, and come with an open mind. Sliding scale registration is $22 to $15.

Strawberry Full Moon Yin Yoga

Rooted in the energy of the Strawberry Full Moon, this Yin Yoga workshop explores themes of abundance, gratitude, emotional reflection, and the soft sweetness of early summer. It begins with a look at the moon’s symbolism and how it can nurture emotional balance, self-love, and renewal. A slow, grounding practice follows, focusing on heart line shapes that ease the chest, shoulders, and upper back to support compassion, connection, and release. Extended holds and quiet attention create space for deep rest and inner reflection. The experience includes a moon water ritual for intention setting, with moon-charged water to take home as a reminder of the practice. It concludes with a mindful eating meditation featuring fresh strawberries, inviting presence, sensory awareness, and appreciation for the season. This workshop welcomes anyone seeking gentle movement, relaxation, heart-centered connection, and a meaningful way to honor the full moon, and no previous yoga experience is required.

Second Saturdays: NeveSkin Facials & Tea and Tarot

Firefly Hollow hosts a monthly pairing of NeveSkin facials with Tea and Tarot. The NeveSkin Facial, previously called a CryoFacial, is offered at a special rate of $125, regularly $200. Sessions run about 20 to 30 minutes and take place while relaxing on a therapeutic infrared crystal mat. Organizers also highlight the infrared crystal mat for supporting immune function, helping recovery after surgery, injury, or workouts, contributing to healthy looking skin, promoting blood alkalization and purification, offering support for ion deficiency related conditions, easing an overactive mind and nervous system, and relieving muscle stiffness and spasms. Appointments are scheduled in advance for a specific time slot. Alongside the spa service, Tea and Tarot readings are available with local professional reader and teacher Pat Dumas, served with a featured tea. The Art of Receiving: A Receivership Experience

This one day somatic experience is designed for women who often serve as the dependable problem solver and steady support for others. Even when help is available, it can feel hard to relax and let it in because the body may still be guarding and trying to stay in control. Rather than offering more information, the focus is on a new felt experience of receiving. The space invites you to set down the need to explain, perform, stay on, or hold everything together, so you can be supported and allow that support to truly land. Guided somatic practices, nervous system awareness, gentle connection, and intentional touch invite you to notice where you resist care and what it is like to soften those patterns safely. You choose what to share and how far to go, and your pace is honored. The intention is not to force vulnerability, but to create enough safety that your body naturally opens and receives. There will be unhurried time to slow down, connect with your body, experience support in real time, and integrate whatever arises without rushing. A light breakfast and lunch are included. Pricing is tiered: Early Bird $249 with limited availability or through April, Tier 2 $264 in May, and a final price of $279. Attendance is capped at 8 women.

FABLE - Fantasy and Book Lovers EXPO

At Wyndham Garden York, a celebration of fantasy and bookish passion unfolds across two days with panels, games, creative sessions, and after-hours parties. The expo floor opens for browsing and conversation, then a fast, drop-in tea game invites readers to serve as a jury and weigh the fate of beloved tropes. Worldbuilders can dive into the craft of designing believable maps that support story logic, followed by a round of Cataclysms & Consequences, and a session that looks to global folklore as a spark for new worlds. A character-focused panel turns archetypes into fully realized people, while Sellsword Arts brings a realism-focused reaction to romantasy with time to mingle afterward, and the night culminates in a fairy tale themed rave. The next day features reflective writing to the story that changed you, a panel on navigating creative burnout and rekindling inspiration, and conversations on poetry’s role in fantasy. Readers and reviewers get guidance on becoming beta or ARC readers, authors explore personal branding, and practical worldbuilding continues with making the incredible feel plausible and examining how geography shapes culture. There is strategy for growing social reach, a live Sellsword demonstration with a meet and greet, a chaotic trope game steeped in dark humor and red flags, a closing session for the day’s events, and an evening fantasy ball to finish the festivities. Side quests run throughout. Tackle a self-paced whodunnit about a once-adored book boyfriend turned cautionary tale, roam a scavenger hunt with merchandise at stake, visit a tattoo booth offering book themed flash for a lasting keepsake, and step into a photo lineup with BookTok favorites serving soulful looks and enigmatic backstories for a quick swoon.

PowerPointless

An evening of lovingly over-the-top slide talks where passion meets playful show-and-tell. Speakers choose hyper-specific, surprising, maybe even controversial topics they feel compelled to tackle, then bring them to life with decks they craft themselves. Some talks inform, some amuse, many do both... starting sensible and drifting into delightful absurdity. Audience enthusiasm is welcome, questions are fair game, and no one is getting a pink slip. Hosted by The Hangar and Woof Bar, this is the opposite of a dull business meeting, with real slides, real speakers, and a trove of unexpected trivia. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door if space remains, offering a little savings for planning ahead. Presenter and topic details will be shared as the event nears.

Self-Bodywork for Nervous System Regulation

Begin the day with less tension and more ease by exploring how self-bodywork can help the body let go of stress. In a fast-paced world it is easy to miss the signals the body sends, and over time that unprocessed strain can appear as chronic tightness, anxiety or overwhelm, aches and stiffness, posture challenges, digestive discomfort, decreased mobility, and low mood or burnout. This workshop introduces practical techniques that unwind physical tension, support regulation of the nervous system, and deepen body awareness. The tools are simple, effective, and designed for everyday use so you can feel calmer, safer, and more supported in just a few minutes. It is suitable for anyone feeling stressed, disconnected, tight, or overwhelmed, as well as those seeking a deeper level of self-care. No experience is needed.
