Take part in hands-on vegetation maintenance along Codorus Creek that keeps harmful herbicides out of downtown and helps the creek banks stay green. For more than 11 years, this volunteer effort has managed plant growth manually to protect the waterway and surrounding landscape. All tools and safety equipment are provided. Wear long pants and shoes with good ankle support, and bring a water bottle. Meet at Foundry Plaza Codorus Boat Basin. Work does not proceed in wet conditions. Weather-related updates or make up days are shared on social media. Volunteer hours count toward required community service, and confirmation letters can be provided. Friends are welcome.
