Free Movie - A Bug's Life
This free screening presents the story of Flik, an inventive ant whose latest mistake destroys the colony's food stores set aside to pay the grasshopper Hopper. Hopper then orders the ants to gather twice as much food or face being wiped out. To protect the colony, Flik heads out to recruit fighters and finds a troupe of circus insects who may be able to help. Flik is portrayed by Kang Su-jin and Hopper by Lee Hyeon-seon. The film is rated PG, and for these family showings any inappropriate words or actions are removed.

Take your mixed media skills to the next level with Ida Mae Irby in a youth art class focused on advanced collage and acrylic approaches. Students will layer papers, work with vibrant color, and explore techniques that add depth and texture to their artwork. Geared toward middle and high school participants, this Center for the Arts offering is ongoing and accepts new enrollments at any time. All supplies are provided by the Arts Council. The fee is $25 per class.

Settle in at Hoppin' RH for a guided sip and paint experience priced at $35 per person. Your evening includes a pre-sketched canvas, step-by-step instruction, and all the paints, brushes, and tools needed to create your artwork. Arrive early if you are attending with a group so you can find seats together. You are welcome to bring your own snacks, and a one drink minimum applies in support of the venue. It is a good fit for a friends outing, date night, or family activity, with a relaxed atmosphere that keeps creativity flowing. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the class day.
