He received the 2012 Irene Blair Honeycutt Legacy Award from Central Piedmont Community College for his service to local and regional writers.

The 2nd Annual Trail Ride and Bonfire hosted by Swamp Riders returns with a full day of riding, music, food, and fellowship.
