The market is led by children. Parents may help with setup and provide support, but the kids greet visitors, talk about their creations, set prices, and enjoy the experience. Whether a child sells one item, many items, or simply spends time chatting with shoppers, participation is a success. Space is available for roughly 10 to 15 young entrepreneurs. Siblings are welcome to participate together and will share one table. Those wishing to request a table are asked to send a message that includes the child’s first name, age, what they plan to sell, and whether they will share a table with a sibling. Table space is limited and will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. After confirmation, families will receive a participant packet with setup information and a simple preparation guide. The spirit of the event is to give children room to try, learn, and grow.

Downtown Gallatin hosts a spirited kickoff to the school year as Gallatin High, Station Camp, and Liberty Creek go head to head for bragging rights and the Gallatin Spirit Trophy. This first edition for the city, inspired by a 28 year tradition in Robertson County, celebrates school pride and student leadership while bringing the community together in a friendly contest of creativity and camaraderie. Look for 15 minute showcases from each school, a DJ pumping up the crowd, and lively relay games, with six student competitors from every school taking part in all challenges.
