Savor the aroma of fresh sourdough in a hands-on class devoted to Southern-style bread and cinnamon rolls. Led by Leigh Funderburk, the lesson walks through feeding a starter, mixing dough, shaping loaves or rolls, rolling and filling for cinnamon rolls, and baking with confidence. The approach is designed to be simple, with flavor developing over about 36 to 48 hours. Taste both sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls during the session and explore variations in flour and ingredients, including herbs. Held at Stoney Creek Farm, this 90-minute class also discusses how sourdough can be part of a healthy diet. Participants take home a living starter with roots tracing back to her Aunt Susan in the 1980s, along with step-by-step instructions and a calendar-style schedule to guide ongoing baking. Cost is $45.
