The Music City Mustang Club Fall Color Tour sets off from Publix Harpeth Village in Fieldstone Farms, Franklin, following a scenic route along Fieldstone Parkway to Cotton Lane, then onto Del Rio Pike and Old Hillsboro Road on Highway 46. The plan requests one car to help manage traffic so the group can stay together. From there, the cruise continues south on Highway 46 through Leiper’s Fork, reaching the Natchez Trace Parkway entrance, then turning south on the Trace. Traditional rest stops include Garrison Creek, the Gordon House, and the Collinwood Welcome Center, where coffee, cookies, and memorabilia will be available. Lunch is planned at The Bridges Resort Alpine restaurant, with choices that include catfish fillets, hamburger steak, chicken tenders, and hamburgers or cheeseburgers, paired with sides such as crinkle fries, a baked potato, onion rings, slaw, and a salad bar. After signing a waiver, participants can explore the property, home to two natural land bridges shaped by water and wind, a stream beside the restaurant, and an Ice Cave that stays about 58 degrees year round. The Black Orchid Society’s fifth annual Friendsgiving brings the community together for a chili cook-off, shared food, and good company. Bring a pot of chili with an ingredient list, or contribute a side, dessert, or other dish to share. Chili entries will be judged, with a prize and bragging rights for the winner. Hot apple cider, dishes, flatware, napkins, cups, and everything needed for s’mores will be provided. There is no electricity at the pavilion, so plan accordingly for dishes that need to stay hot, and bring serving utensils or serving ware for your contribution. The gathering will be outdoors, with a shelter and fire, so dress for the weather.

An annual Christmas Bazaar fills Marshall County High School with holiday shopping and community spirit on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. The event supports the Marshall County Art Guild, a 501(c)(3) dedicated to promoting and supporting visual arts and local artists in Marshall County. Class size is limited to a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 students. Tuition is $75 per day for carving and $75 for painting, and the blank is not included. Streets fill with musicians, dancers, and well-known Dickens figures, including the villainous Fagin from Oliver Twist and, from A Christmas Carol, Jacob Marley, Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the Cratchit family. A Victorian Father and Mother Christmas meet visitors and offer treats to children. The festival is produced by the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County.
