Turina, from Seville, Spain (1812-1949), evokes the spirit of Andalusia, a region known for flamenco music and dance, tapas, and landscapes that range from mountains to beaches. Additional works by Enrique Granados and Juan C. Arriaga round out the instrumental selections, and the vocal portion includes Spanish-language songs performed by soprano Youna Hartgraves and tenor Sergio Cepeda. The piano quintet features violinists LeeAnne Chenoweth and Keyreel Raskolenko, violist Claire Ross, cellist Alice Jeong-A Lee, and pianist Heejung Kang.
