Wrap up the season with a day of family-friendly excitement at Quality Home Furniture’s End of Summer Splashapalooza and Car Show. The festivities begin with a color fun run that weaves in obstacle challenges, then continue with post-run games, a live DJ, community booths, vendor giveaways, and a school supply giveaway while supplies last. Gabby’s Auto Car Show showcases custom and classic vehicles, highlights local car enthusiasts, and features small business pop-up vendors in a welcoming setting for all ages. The shallow area, swim lanes and the diving board are open for four-legged fun, with lots of tennis balls in the water for fetching. Owners may get in the pool with their pets. Festivities include a pet swimsuit contest, a dog paddle race and diving challenges with prizes. Pricing for residents is $5 for one dog with an owner and $2 for each additional dog or spectator. Non-residents pay $8 for one dog with an owner and $4 for each additional dog or spectator. Each dog must be accompanied by someone 16 or older, and paper vaccination certificates are required for entry. Pre-registration is available.

Shop a wide variety of firearms and hunting-related gear at the Premier Gun Shows in Mesquite. Admission is $12 with cash-only entry at the gate, and the show runs across both Saturday and Sunday with different hours each day.

The Off The Rails concert series reaches its midpoint with an evening of live music in Historic Downtown Mesquite. Dallas singer songwriter Maya Piata blends her New Orleans upbringing with her New Zealand heritage, and, following the release of her second EP, Vernal, brings a bright mix of soul, funk, R&B, and pop shaped by influences like Lauryn Hill, Chaka Khan, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Sam Cooke, and Michael Jackson. The Downtown Mesquite Market at Front Street Station sets the scene beforehand with local vendors, unique finds, and tasty treats.
