Community partners will offer uniforms, haircuts, and health resources. Forney ISD Health Services will provide student vaccinations. Campus staff will be on site to meet families and share campus-specific details, including ways to get involved in PTO. Highlights include the Ninja Nation indoor obstacle course, where participants can play for fun or take on a timed challenge. Families who are not enrolled with the academy’s homeschool or summer camp can take part by meeting the group at the park and covering their own admission and any applicable fees. Broderick Sargent will be at the Card Stadium Expo at The OC in Forney for a public autograph signing hosted by Autographs Ink. Known as a Baylor standout with professional stops that include the St. Louis Cardinals in 1986 to 1987 and the Dallas Cowboys in 1989, he will be signing a variety of items. Mail-in and drop-off options are available. Pricing is $8 for a trading card, $10 for a flat item or mini helmet, and $20 for any other item. Inscriptions of up to three words are $5 each. Custom cards are available for $12 each, and photos are available for $24. A selection of pens will be provided, including blue or black Sharpie, various paint pens, blue Staedtler, blue ballpoint, and silver Sharpie. Mail items should arrive ahead of the signing. Big Mouth Scrappers2nd Annual Chillaxen Chili Cookout and Axe Throwing
This second annual Chillaxen gathering offers a full day of friendly competition, food, and music. Cooks can enter the chili contest for a $10 fee and should bring enough for judges and guests. Axe throwing fans can compete for $5, which includes two practice throws and four scoring throws, and participants may enter multiple times to improve their score. Prizes are available in the contests. General admission is free with donations accepted, and everyone can sample chili and other food while enjoying live, upbeat music. The event is family friendly and welcomes both cars and motorcycles. Taz will be on site offering bike detailing, and a silent auction will feature a variety of items. Registration is day-of only at 25 dollars per car for the open class, and spectators are free. The OCSome Run Seagoville 2026
The sixth annual Some Run 5K for A-T returns to Seagoville, Texas with both in person and virtual ways to participate. Choose a challenging timed 5K, an easygoing 5K walk or roll, or a short half mile shuffle around the pond. Whether you run, walk, shuffle, roll, volunteer, or sponsor, there is a way to be part of it. Cash awards are offered to the top three male and top three female finishers in the timed 5K, with $500 for first place, $250 for second, and $125 for third. There are also first place awards for each age group, prizes for the biggest teams with all teams recognized, and additional prizes to be announced. The event supports the A-T Children’s Project, benefiting those affected by ataxia telangiectasia, a rare genetic condition that leads to progressive loss of muscle control, immune system challenges, and a markedly increased risk of cancer.
