An expansive indoor celebration of Japanese culture fills NRG Center in Houston, bringing together more than 600 vendors from across the country. Expect car culture showcases, live concerts, arcades, martial arts and samurai presentations, voice actor appearances, and a wide range of programs that highlight tradition and pop culture alike. The marketplace features a broad selection of cuisine with 35 plus food purveyors, more than 250 merchandise booths, and a 350 table Artist Alley. Guests from Japan and the United States will be announced, and the lineup already includes a performance by Emerald Coast Okinawa. Highlights include a car show in collaboration with Hot Import Nights that awards a $1,000 prize, a cosplay contest with a $1,000 prize, a Maid Cafe presented by Megami Maids, a free concert, and complimentary speed dating. Cultural experiences span Okinawa taiko and festival dance, an idol festival, Kpop and JPop dance competitions, a stamp rally, festival games, karaoke, and Q&A panels with guests and industry professionals. A new samurai exhibit debuts as part of the attractions. Hands on learning is front and center with an origami workshop, a tea ceremony class, kimono talks and dressing sessions, karate and samurai workshops, and other martial arts activities. A sake tasting is offered for VIP pass holders. Passes are collected at the registration desk in front of Hall D. Please bring an Eventbrite ticket that includes a QR code, which will be scanned for badges at the doors. VIP and media use the VIP line, while online two day, Saturday, and Sunday passes are claimed at the prepurchase line. Tickets for children ages 5 to 10 are available only at registration. VIP benefits are limited and include a hologram badge and lanyard, one hour early entry, access to the sake tasting, priority seating for concerts, a private seating area, fast lane access for autographs, and a swag bag with festival keepsakes such as a fan, enamel pin, T shirt, and sponsor items. Parking is operated by NRG Park in designated lots around the venue, with entry available at Lots 2 and 11. The posted parking fee is $27 per day and may change at the discretion of NRG Park. Ticket options include Saturday and Sunday general admission, a two day VIP package, and kids pricing, offered at early discount and at the door rates.
