Holiday Survival Guide for Families: A Drug-Free Playbook
Austin · MaxLiving Chiropractic - Tech Ridge, 12314 N IH-35 Svc Rd SB
Read moreRead lessThe stretch from late October through early January often brings candy everywhere, packed schedules, family gatherings, travel, and peak cold and flu season. Routines slide, sleep suffers, and by the start of the new year many households feel worn down. This one hour workshop offers a clear plan to keep the season joyful while safeguarding health. Led by a pediatric chiropractor and mom with ten years of work focused on how kids’ nervous systems respond to stress, sugar, shifting schedules, and seasonal exposure, the session explores what happens in children’s bodies and behavior when sweets surge and how to soften the impact without dampening celebrations. It covers practical ways to build immune resilience before illness makes the rounds, including which supplements, foods, and daily habits to prioritize and which to skip. You will hear sleep strategies that help when travel, time changes, late nights, and crashes threaten rest, along with co regulation tools to keep both kids and caregivers steady during big family events and long car rides. The presenter also shares five core essentials that, when protected, help families stay well through any level of holiday busyness, plus straightforward examples from her own household that are realistic rather than picture perfect. The tone is supportive and judgment free. It is not about canceling treats, shaming sugar choices, or calling out parents. It is a practical roadmap for navigating the season with both magic and well being intact. Admission is free for attendees and their guests. Participants receive a take home framework, special event pricing on immune and nervous system supplements highlighted in the talk, and entries into giveaway raffles. Spouses, partners, grandparents, and friends with children are welcome so the whole support network can learn the same playbook.

The music leans into upright bass and warmly driven guitars for a sixties-tinged sound while remaining entirely their own. The songs move through the highs and lows of relationships and expand the focus to include family and unresolved moments, encouraging listeners to sit with the complexity that lingers. Their East LA roots stay embedded in the fabric of the music, present without showmanship and grounded in real emotion. The Charities appear alongside Thee Sinseers for a program of soulful storytelling and a contemporary spin on timeless grooves.

Purple Flagging The Cemeteries
New Braunfels · Comal Cemetery, 422 Peace Ave
FreeRead moreRead lessAt Comal Cemetery, volunteers come together to locate and mark every veteran’s resting place in preparation for National Wreaths Across America Day. Because these cemeteries are not part of the national system and many headstones do not clearly note military service, teams use cemetery grid maps to find known veterans. One person navigates with the map while another places a purple flag at each identified grave. Purple is used because it is not a color employed by the cemeteries, which reduces confusion and helps participants find veterans when wreaths are placed. Multiple sessions are planned, with extra dates set aside in case of inclement weather or if more time is needed to finish the work. Arrival is flexible, and contributions of any length are appreciated. Students seeking volunteer or community service hours are encouraged to participate, and service-hour forms will be signed. The aim is to ensure every veteran across the cemeteries along Peace Avenue is identified, honored, and ready to receive a wreath.
