Food Pantry

Chapel Hill offers a free food pantry on Tuesdays for neighbors in need, serving the first 75 families that arrive. Those seeking assistance may line up at the side entrance, and registration begins when doors open. A valid Texas photo ID is required. Upon entry, participants receive a number and start paperwork with an intake coordinator, then a registration volunteer completes the process after a brief wait. If qualified, participants will be directed to drive to the front of the church, open the trunk, and volunteers will load a cart of food. The pantry may be accessed once per family every thirty days. It is closed the week of New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Capacity is limited, so arriving early is encouraged as the pantry fills quickly.

Story Time at Hemisfair with SAAACAM

Hemisfair and the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum (SAAACAM) have teamed up for a recurring storytime. On the first Tuesday of each month, SAAACAM reads a book, then leads a craft inspired by science, technology, engineering, art, and math that connects to the story.
