Night two at The State Room features James McMurtry with BettySoo. This 21 and over show highlights McMurtry’s vivid storytelling and a seasoned band, drawing from The Black Dog and the Wandering Boy on New West Records, co-produced with Don Dixon. The album includes appearances by Sarah Jarosz, Charlie Sexton, Bonnie Whitmore and Bukka Allen, alongside Cornbread on bass, Tim Holt on guitar and Daren Hess on drums, with BettySoo contributing vocals on the record and performing on the bill. Rooted in character-driven songs inspired by family history and small, revealing details, the new material builds on the acclaim for The Horses and the Hounds from outlets such as Uncut and Pitchfork. The evening centers on literary lyricism, rich arrangements and a set from BettySoo.

Murray Theater hosts a high energy tribute to KISS, performed by four seasoned musicians who have been recognized as a top finalist in a worldwide KISS tribute contest and were invited to audition for NBC’s America’s Got Talent. James Seda channels The Demon, Erik Winger portrays The Catman, James Cullen steps into The Space Ace, and John Carlazzo brings The Starchild to life, combining decades of stage experience to deliver a show designed for every kind of KISS fan. Tickets are $30 and include all fees. All sales are final with no refunds or exchanges. Seating is fully reserved, with a limit of eight tickets per transaction. Presented by S&S, Puppeteers For Fears brings Robopocalypse, a rock and roll puppet musical with a science fiction and horror edge. The Oregon ensemble is known for original, puppet-performed comedies that mix puppetry, video, and live music. Launched as a one-night Halloween cabaret in 2015, the show’s popularity led the group to keep creating, resulting in roughly six new musicals that span supernatural creatures, rampaging robots, and even solitary sasquatches, with sold-out performances nationwide. This performance is seated.
