    Somatic Tango Classes

    132 S 800 W, Salt Lake City · verified Aug 2
    See details

Discover tango through a somatic lens in a new series for dancers who want to feel what is happening inside the body as they move. Whether you come from salsa, swing, ballroom, or another social dance, this training shifts attention from memorizing patterns to understanding why connection can feel effortless with one partner and challenging with another. The work centers on how movement organizes through axis, balance, tone, and focused attention within connection, placing body intelligence before choreography. Expect to notice how subtle internal adjustments transform what happens externally, bringing more clarity to your dancing, lightening heavy moments, and giving you tools to actively shape connection rather than guess at it. It is well suited to dancers who care as much about the mechanics of presence as they do about steps. Enrollment is open.

Sugarhouse Park · verified Aug 2
    Free

Parents gather at Sugarhouse Park each week to build a free, local support network through conversation and connection. Depending on the group and how everyone is feeling, time may be spent near the playground for families with older kids or in a shaded spot nearby. This welcoming circle is open to all expectant and postpartum parents, and to parents with children of any age, including new or soon-to-arrive babies. It is not a therapy session, rather a space to find community and meet people who understand the parenting journey. Look for a sign with the Sunshine Crew logo at the pavilion for the exact meetup spot. If arriving after the start, call 801-361-9785 to locate the group if it has moved from Parleys Creek Pavilion. The meetup takes place rain or shine.
