West Valley City Centennial Park, West Valley City · verified Aug 2
    See details

Round 2 of the MCC Signature Series brings four classes of micro competition crawling to West Valley RC Crawler Park in Centennial Park. Standard micro competition follows the 2025 MCC rule set. Entry and parking are free, and the event is open to all ages with a parent or guardian. Registration is handled through the RC Arena app. The crawler area is near the outdoor pool on the west side behind the tennis courts. The Signature Series 24-18 scale division features two 10 gate layouts with bonus gates, one set for D1-2 and another for D3-4, and the courses are closed to free play or practice. The Nano competition offers a single 10 gate course with bonus gates for C1-3 and is also closed to practice. In both, the top five in each class receive extra chances in an opportunity drawing for prizes. Nano rules for 2026 will be announced, and sponsors and prize details are to be announced. A group photo is planned so rigs can be lined up together for a shared shot. A dedicated scale trail for mini crawlers will be dressed with buildings and decorations that make it ideal for photos and video. The Scale Kings RC Showdown show and shine will judge crawlers in categories that include best theme, best trailer, best comp rig, best scale build or dollhouse, and best nano. The MCC Club Challenge adds a marked trail with no judges where drivers can attempt the climb as many times as they like, ring the bell at the top, and claim bragging rights. Plan to bring plenty of batteries and any gear you will need, and please pack out more than you pack in to help keep the area clean. Restrooms are available on site, though it can be a bit of a walk, and there is also a Chevron across the street. There is no EMT on site.

Golden Portal: Lion's Gate Nidra & Sound Bath

6357 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City · verified Aug 2
    See details

Aligned with the Lion’s Gate Portal, a yearly moment linked with Leo season and the star Sirius, this gathering centers on courage, radiance, abundance, spiritual insight, and heart-led change. It offers time to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the light within. The evening begins gently with grounding practices that calm the nervous system, encourage body awareness, and support intention setting. Dawn then leads a 30 minute Yoga Nidra session, a guided rest practiced lying down with ample support. The body can settle into deep relaxation while the mind lingers at the threshold between waking and dreaming, a space where clarity and healing may arise. Afterward, Eben and Dawn offer a 45 minute sound bath. Soothing vibrations invite deeper rest and integration, with room to simply receive and be supported by breath, body, sound, and quiet. This experience welcomes anyone seeking a meaningful pause, renewal, or a soft way to connect with the symbolism of the Lion’s Gate. It can serve those setting intentions, navigating transition, calling in clarity, or longing for profound rest. Expect an opening circle with intention setting, a 30 minute Yoga Nidra guided by Dawn, and a 45 minute sound bath with Eben and Dawn. The practice is fully reclined and comfort is encouraged through mats, blankets, bolsters, and other supportive props, with space for reflection, renewal, and energetic alignment. The cost is $24. No prior experience with Yoga Nidra, meditation, or sound baths is required, and the environment is designed to be gentle, accessible, and welcoming to all.

    Somatic Tango Classes

    132 S 800 W, Salt Lake City · verified Aug 2
    See details

The work centers on how movement organizes around axis, balance, tone, and focused attention within connection, placing body intelligence before choreography. Participants learn to sense how subtle internal adjustments create noticeable external changes, leading to clearer movement, lighter moments, and a connection that can be shaped with intention rather than guessed. Ideal for dancers as interested in the mechanics of being present as they are in steps. Enrollment is open.

It also offers a chance to connect with expectant and postpartum parents, as well as supporters seeking practical tools. Bring water and wear comfortable clothing. Bring a yoga mat if you have one, and borrow one on site if needed. Pricing is sliding scale, pay what you can, $10 to $25 per class. HSA and FSA funds may be used when applicable. No preregistration is required. Although the class appears on Glow’s website, registration and payment are not processed there because the space is rented by SHAUNTEA. There is ample space with no class size limits, and payment can be made before or after class. All genders, body types, and abilities are welcome, including surrogates, intended parents, and family supporters. All are welcome as they are.
