Sampson Basketball Academy Summer Camps are a high-energy basketball experience focused on elite skill development and confidence building. Campers will work on shooting, ball handling, defense, footwork, and basketball IQ through structured drills, competitive games, and real-game scenarios. There will also be special guest appearances, fun competitions, prizes, and daily challenges for a memorable week on and off the court.

Celebrate the end of Townie Summer with a big summer party for townies at Pale Fire Brewing Co. Wear your best Hawaiian shirt or get a lei when you arrive. Come early for food and fun, then stay for live music (to be announced). Expect an outdoor beverage garden with a bar, Townie Juice, plus tropical-themed drinks and desserts like Piña Colada Jell-O shots and the Tropical Storm cocktail. There will also be local merch available, and seating is limited. This is family friendly, and kids must be supervised by an adult. Dogs are welcome if they’re on a leash at all times.

All games are played under one roof, and teams can look forward to a 3-game guarantee, full concessions, and awards including medals for champions and runners-up plus all-tournament team selections across divisions. Boys and girls in grades 3rd through 12th (9u through 17u) are included, with an entry fee of $225.

The route moves through the Beverley and Newtown districts, showcasing ornate Victorian architecture while sharing stories of early settlers, the Civil War, and the community’s resurgence. Highlights include the Smith Center for History and Art, the National Valley Bank, and Trinity Church with its celebrated Tiffany windows. Along the way, participants can take in local art galleries, antique shops, and the lively farmers market. Ideal for families and history enthusiasts, this experience offers a vivid window into Staunton’s past. A full tour is $23, a shorter option is $18, and children under 12 are half price. When available, the tour may be conducted on the Staunton Downtown Trolley.

A friendly meetup for young Pokémon fans, whether brand new or already playing, to connect, trade, and make friends in a relaxed setting. During the event, the space is set aside specifically for kids and their parents or guardians so everyone can focus on fun and community. Beginners are supported with a box of bulk Pokémon to sift through, making it easy to get started.

Teen classes are back and open to ages 12 to 18. The current session runs from April through August. Each week features a new dance style, with rotations that may include Ballroom, Swing, Latin, Urban, and more. After class, participants head to a chaperoned ice cream social at Kline’s Dairy Bar while parents attend their own class. Drop-ins are welcome at $10 per class, and additional teens from the same family can join for $5 each.

Each Thursday features a different theme: KEVA LAB on the 1st Thursday, board games on the 2nd Thursday, LEGO CLUB on the 3rd Thursday, and CRAFTY KIDS on the 4th Thursday. If there is a 5th Thursday in the month, there are no library activities.
