Dirty Dancing: The Musical brings the Lionsgate film to the stage in a new production at Altria Theater. Featuring live music from the original movie, it follows Baby and Johnny through a transformative summer of bold dancing, clandestine meetings, and a romance that breaks the rules. Northside Grille presents a live set from Jennifer Alvarado, a Hickory, North Carolina native now based in Nashville and a multiple award recipient. She brings a fresh take on country music, blending the storytelling heart of 90s country with the grit and candor of alternative rock, often likened to a mix of Deana Carter and Alanis Morissette. Over the past four years, she has performed across Nashville and beyond, including appearances at The Viper Room in LA, The Listening Room in Pigeon Forge, The Cobra in Nashville, The Bird’s Nest in Dunn, North Carolina, and The Purple Onion in Saluda, North Carolina. Influenced by artists such as Janis Joplin, Reba McEntire, Tom Petty, Deana Carter, and Alanis Morissette, her show offers a smooth blend of classic rock, country, blues, and Americana. The performance features crowd favorites spanning many genres alongside her original songs.

The Camel hosts an evening with Liam Kazaar and Caroline Vain. Kazaar, a Chicago native now living in Brooklyn, blends folk, rock, pop, jazz, and alt-country into a fluid, personal sound shaped by early performing and years of collaboration with artists including Jeff Tweedy and Hannah Cohen. His solo journey began with 2021’s Due North, a charged debut marked by anxious reflections and kinetic guitar work. His follow-up, Pilot Light, produced by Sam Evian and created with close collaborators, turns inward to consider love, heartbreak, and growth. The songs favor spare, clear arrangements that put candid writing at the forefront, highlighting his emergence as a distinctive voice in indie music. Admission is $17 or $20, and tickets are available at the door unless sold out.

Harry’s at Hofheimer turns into an intimate listening lounge for Analog, a weekly Thursday gathering that celebrates cocktails and the tactile side of sound. The atmosphere encourages settling in, taking your time, and sharing music together in a cozy, low-key space. This edition features Bring Your Own Vinyl, inviting attendees to bring records from their personal collections and help shape what plays throughout the night. Analog is less about a single medium and more about a shared way of hearing music in real time, just as it was created to be enjoyed. Reservations are recommended.

Legacy Concerts hosts UNTO OTHERS at the Canal Club in Richmond, VA, featuring special guest WRAITH KNIGHT. This all-ages show offers tickets at $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show.

His earlier release Liquid Spirit received the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and the same warmth and emotional directness are hallmarks of his performances.

A reception at Art Works celebrates new exhibits with live music, refreshments, and drinks sponsored by RVA Thriving Artists. Meet featured creators Sky Dai, Alcova Key, Carol Gruppe, and Tatiana Grace, and explore the All Media Show highlighting work by local artists. The gathering is free and open to the public, and free parking is available.
