The race supports Rikki’s Refuge, an organization dedicated to improving the well-being of animals and people through rescue and lifelong refuge for domestic and farm animals, spay and neuter initiatives including TNR for community cats, assistance that helps seniors and low-income pet owners keep their companions, humane education that fosters compassion and inclusion, safe haven for native wildlife, and stewardship of protected woodlands for biodiversity. Course maps, shirt and medal designs, and event photos are shared by the organizer. A recurring social media challenge highlights favorite posts from the prior race weekend and awards a discount toward a future event. The organizer is an all-weather race company and will notify registered runners if plans change due to conditions.
