Guitars Under The Star Acoustic Guitar Pull & Song Circle

Mill Mountain Star, Roanoke · verified Jul 31
    See details

An outdoor acoustic guitar pull and song circle that began the year COVID arrived continues at Mill Mountain Star, bringing musicians and listeners together to share music on the lawn across from the lower observation deck. Original songs and covers are both welcome. Seasoned touring artists mingle with those who have never been on a stage, and those who prefer to simply listen are warmly included. Plan to park in the lower lot near the lower deck and bring a folding chair, a cool beverage, bug spray, and your favorite tunes. Expect a pleasant breeze and wide views from high above the city. Start times adjust over the season, beginning earlier and shifting later as days grow longer and hotter. If the weather is questionable, the group aims first for the Discovery Center or the picnic shelter behind the Star just off the path. For severe conditions like thunderstorms, lightning, or high winds, the backup location is 3rd Street Coffeehouse. Updates about any location changes are shared on the Facebook page. 3rd Street Coffeehouse is a volunteer-run, non-profit listening room in its 40th year with no cover charge. Small contributions to the tip bucket help sustain the music, though donating is optional. Appreciation is extended to the City of Roanoke and to Gretch Boeren at the Discovery Center for their support.
