    Inside Llewyn Davis comes to the Bellows Falls Opera House as part of a four-film classic series supported by Stage 33 Live along with community partners including Dave and Sharon Pelland, Rick Holloway, Chrisman Kearn, Andrew Dey, Circuits in the Woods, WOOL-FM, anonymous angels, and Rockingham Entertainment Development. This celebrated black comedy drama from Joel and Ethan Coen runs 1 hour and 45 minutes and follows a week in 1961 in the life of a folk singer striving for musical success while keeping his personal world intact, drawing partial inspiration from Dave Van Ronk’s autobiography. The cast features Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, F. Murray Abraham, Justin Timberlake, and Adam Driver. Many of the folk performances were recorded live, with T Bone Burnett serving as executive music producer. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013, where it won the Grand Prix, and it went on to receive numerous award nominations. The New York Times praised its mix of surrealism, period detail, and pop culture scholarship. Tickets are $6 in advance or available at the door.
